Everyone is cast. I'm not that familiar with any of the cast members, but I'm excited the cast is set, and rehearsals are beginning soon!

Is Philip Hoffman the same Philip Seymour Hoffman?
yeah but, mollys part is REALLY small..it's basically an ensemble track with a name... Marsha Waterbury im excited for... even though she wasnt "fab" as an u/s in mamma mia..she is a super nice person and im sure this will be a much better show for her...congrats to her.

who?
looking at the cast list though, it seems like there are an awful lot of guys in the cast and only a few girls.
Murphy, Kelly, Anderson? Oy....
And Tommyboy... not funny....
what i dont get is... hundreds-thousand auditioned for the girls in the show...were there no talented newyorkers to play hodel? were their no young girls to play the older daughters let alone jewish actors? i give this production till summer if that

i dont understand that either.. Were there open calls for the daugters? I thought they were only hiring adults.. But Molly and Lea are not adults.. Are they?
It wouldn't make sense casting all adults because there are many child/teenage roles, obviously. I also agree with Amneris, that they should have let unknowns take the roles. If they have Alfred Molina as the star, using an unknown as Hodel, Chava, or Tzeital even, wouldn't hurt.

But they did cast kids. Arent molly and lea considered children?
there were MANY MANY equity calls in NYC and 1 HUGE open call in NYC for HODEL and that was packed with over 600 girls... they only saw 400 of us though... Tevye and Golde have 2 young daughters who are not a huge part of the show so those are supposed to be "real young" but, the 2 girls playing THOSE 2 parts should really be the age of Chava and Hodel...

I see. But how old are Molly and Lea?
I'm pretty sure Molly is 16 years old...oh wait...maybe 17. I have no idea how old Lea is.
Molly is underestimated. She made poor character choices in INTO THE WOODS, but she is a nice actress. I don't understand why everyone who hated the revival hated her the most.
I agree CapnHook, I didn't think Molly was horrible at all. I liked her. It was the way she was directed. I personally enjoyed the take on the role.
