Hello all! I am planning on rushing Fiddler on the Roof tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone here has rushed the show yet. If so, what time should I be in line, and where are the seats located? Thanks in advance!

Hi bwayphreak, I rushed last Friday for the matinee (weird thanksgiving schedule) and got my ticket an hour before showtime, so I don't think you should be there that early, but I guess play it safe. My tickets were in the middle mezzanine closer to the front than the death trap back side, the view was greats. It looks like rush tickets are sparsed everywhere around the house though. Good luck!

With a theater that big I assume rush tickets are very easy to come by

Those often have nothing to do with each other. Some theaters only put a certain number aside for rush, and once they are gone, it doesn't matter if the house is half empty, rush is sold out.

I didn't realize they had announced a rush. It's not listed in any of the usual places. Is it a student rush? How much are tickets?

Is playbill not a "usual place"?
General rush. $37

I would definitely not assume that rush is readily available.
A friend of mine tried to get tickets for us on Saturday, November 21 and by 10:45am they had sold out of rush for the evening performance. Perhaps they release more rush seats during the day depending on the day-of sales, but he bought tickets to another show immediately after, so we didn't check back.
It sounds like some have been successful with rush right before curtain, but the last week or so had an odd holiday schedule, so perhaps the Friday matinee wasn't as sold out as a traditional performance because it was at an unconventional time and date?

Thanks for the link! And actually no it's not the usual place for me. I stopped using that page, since I've often found that it tends to be more out of date than the website of the show itself, and Broadway For Broke People. Interesting that it's the reverse in this case. I also happened to be looking on this page earlier today and didn't see it:

The BroadwayWorld rush / lotto guide is pretty horrendous, unfortunately. I never check it because there are much better resources available, including Playbill, Broadway for Broke People, and this very forum. I believe in the case of Fiddler, Playbill had the information posted on their guide the first day of previews. They were also the first to note the price decrease for SRO for China Doll, so they mostly stay up to date.

Yeah, I agree that Broadwayworld's page seems to be less complete. Earlier today was actually my first time looking at it. Truth be told I actually forgot about Playbill's rush page since I stopped using it as my main source of info. I think I'll have to start checking it again though, especially now that Broadway For Broke People has been slipping a bit with regards to accuracy (not just with Fiddler but with several other shows as well). I'm surprised they don't mention the Rush on Fiddler's website though. They only mention Tix4Students.

I rushed this morning. Got there at about 8:50 and was sixth in line. I believe pretty much everyone in front of me bought for the matinee. I was buying for the evening show. I got row M seats 9 and 11 of the mezzanine against the wall, but I was told they are full view! I am looking forward to seeing this again.

Row M stretches over to seat 27, so you're much closer to the center than the wall.

^ Sorry, I should have specified that my seats are in the rear mezz.

Ah, that'll do it. Enjoy the show. I went last night and really enjoyed the production.

Has anyone rushed this recently? I have an out of town guest who wants to try and rush next Sunday. Thanks!

I rushed last Tuesday. I got there about an hour before curtain and got a great rush seat in the second or third row orchestra slightly to the side. A tiny bit close but the stage isn't particularly high so no sore neck. I was very pleased.

Other than Meg, most of you got rush tickets in the upper mezz. If the regular price of the upper mezz is $35 and rush is $37 for the same location, what's the point of buying rush? This is the only show i have not purchased my tickets in advance. Unless they are now offering better seats, I might as well buy my ticket, the first day i get into the city.
