Eponine and the Thenardier roles not yet officially cast.
By the way this is "officially cast", it will be the biggest "duh" in movie history.

Care to clarify/elaborate? Or am I just reading that wrong?

Redemption for the prisoner - Soon to start filming new feature film based on Victor Hugos Classic Novel starring Hugh Jackman, and Anne Hathaway."
They are looking for shaven or bald men to play criminals. will valjean have a shaved head too at the beginning? this will surely help in his transition and it will be more believable when javert fails to recognize him when he meets him again as the mayor.

A Valjean with a shaved head??
Have you seen Aronofsky's THE FOUNTAIN -- here's Hugh in the future episode from the movie, with a shaved head:
But they may have to shoot this at the end, if Hugh will have to shave his head fully.
Hmm...interesting option.
This was a huge surprise! I'm starting to get excited about this film again.

Renee Zellweger?
Did I miss something?
There's some conjecture that the Grant, Zellwegger and Firth calls are for a new Bridget Jones movie that's also filming soon. Nothing to do with Les Miz.

Couldn't they make him look bald without him actually shaving his head?

If all the prisoners in the first scene have shaved heads, it at least makes more sense that Javert doesn't recognize Valjean later.
That's true! I was thinking the same thing.
What I'm wondering is how they're going to explain the part later when Javert infiltrates the students and nobody recognizes *him*, despite the fact that Marius at least was there when Thenardier was robbing Valjean and Javert showed up (I can't remember if Enjolras is still onstage when that happens or not). He seems to be a common fixture in the slums, you'd think Enjolras and the students would know him at once.
I mean, Javert's "disguise" to spy on the students consists of - a different jacket!! And a tricolor sash! Yeah, his own mother wouldn't recognize him... o_O

The ethnicities thing is interesting. Historically there would be some people of African descent in Paris.
Any truth to this? Fan sounds like a BNF-type, so who knows.

It's interesting that no one asked Baron Cohen on the Red Carpet of the Oscars if he has finalized his deal to play Monsieur Thenardier. The production crew is about to shoot the film.

Don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but I was told by norm lewis that sierra boggess Is to play the old hag? I'm guessing one of the lovely ladies.

Baron Cohen did not walk the carpet as himself. He walked as the Dictator and when he is in character, he stays in character.
Thanks, now I'm going to have nightmares of a bald Renee Zelwegger storming a barricade.

You mean the hair crone?????
That's my favorite bit character!! They inexplicably made her normal in the 25th ann. thingo and my heart sank, lol.
I love the hair hag! The way she stalks poor Fantine then helps herself to a handful of locks of her hair as the ghetto hag screeches "I'LL TAKE THE LOT!!!" Only then does she decide to "make a price," lol. Such an a-hole, but I love her. XD
Sierra is much too pretty! Don't tell me they are making her as boring as they did in the stinky new touring thingo? Argheufjfmnfn.
LuPone should be the hair hag. Full Circle.
