Ivy-- you're absolutely right. When I saw her in concert back in 2005, the stage door was crowded, but reserved and respectful. No barricade was needed. She took pictures with people, engaged in conversation, and signed anything and everything. Cut to 2014, when I tried stage dooring If/Then, and it was the opposite of 2005. People shouting in her face, trying to touch her, pushing against the barricade. You could easily tell it was causing her anxiety. She was quick, efficient, silent, and out of there in less than 3 minutes. And I could not blame her one bit. I felt so bad for her, and vowed to not stage door her again. It's not fair to her.
The audio of "Always Starting Over" is just too much. So much emotion and her singing is excellent. I'm very upset that I missed this production.

I've been a fan of Idina's for over a decade now, but I haven't seen her at a stage door in years because I have zero interest in being involved in that type of environment. That simply isn't the type of interaction I'm interested in having... being shoved around and getting 3 seconds of face time while she scribbles on my Playbill just isn't worthwhile. When I leave the theatre I'm usually still processing the performance I just saw, and if anything, that atmosphere ruins it. Like someone said before, I'm a lot more interested in attending a CD/book signing, where its more civilized and I'm able to exchange a few words with the signer in peace.

"No one has a more veracious stage door audience than Idina. "
*voracious
I believe you. I'll always be amazed by how young her fanbase average is, or at least those who make themselves known across social media, who are in turn obsessed. And to think so many never even saw her in Wicked, certainly not in RENT.

Well, maybe you can catch the tour. Though how good the cast will be, no one knows. The OBC was pretty special.
She sounded like she was trying to keep it together for the final show, which isn't surprising, but my favorite rendition is still from the one-night-only Radio City concert plastered all over Youtube. (Yes, social media is scary.) More fire than the OBCR and impressively on point for the Monday night off of a Broadway schedule.
