How was the show this afternoon everyone?? I bet it was unforgettable???
Having seen the show twice with the original Broadway cast, I am sad to see it close. This is one of my favorite shows!
And what about the performance that we all have been dreading??? I want details!!!!!!
Well, by the clock, I'm guessing it should be over now. Would love to know how it was. I;m sure it was nothing less than amazing!

From what I've been collecting on Facebook, there were atleast 3 standing ovations and a "cell phone sea of people for blackout..."
Thats so awesome! Anyone else have anything???
Okay, the show was unbelievable tonight. Standing ovations for Lin's entrance, after 96,000, Paciencia y Fe and Carnaval del Barrio. The audience was super enthusiastic throughout. I was sitting behind all alumni cast members which was a lot of fun because they were waving flags during Carnaval. And yes, most of the audience had their cell phones out during Black Out. Lin, of course, free styled a curtain call speech were he thanked and brought out everyone on stage including former cast members, crew, producers, and the creative team.
Yes she was, and looked completely stunning. Pretty sure I saw almost every past cast member.
Echo everything Taylor said.
I've been to many closing night performances, but none like this. The closest I can think of was when Hairspray closed.
It just felt like one big family have one last hurrah, audience members included. Lots of enthusiasm, but NEVER obnoxious.

Tonight was one of the most amazing theater experiences I have ever had. I completely agree with everything Taylor and JP said.

that's exactly how I've summed it up
It was truly a celebration for the audience and cast, and an incredible final night. I feel lucky that I was there to be a part of it all day long.
The playbill article says there will be "Lights up on washington heights somewhere else for a long time." What does this mean!?!?!
I think they just meant that 'In the Heights' will live on in local and high school productions. Don't get your hopes up for an off-Broadway transfer.
Yeah Lin made a comment about high school kids playing Usnavi.
Do we think there will be any footage of the curtain call?
^ Yes, I saw tons of people filming it...you'll be able to find it on youtube tomorrow, I'm sure or someone here might see your message and send you a PM. Heck, BWW will probably post it.

As others have said, the final performance was fantastic and so full of energy. I too can only compare the energy to the final performance of Hairspray...there were three rows of former cast members in a block of seats house right, where I watched the show from, and they not only had flags up for Carnaval, but did some choreo and ensemble stuff along with the performers onstage. One of my favorite moments from the show tonight was Marcy knocking the wine bottle over and recovering with one hell of a sassy exit. Will always remember this show.

Lin did say something last night to the effect of
Hey Listen In the heights isn't closing some little high schoolers gonna be playin' usnavi.
The fact that he said not closing
Could he of been hinting at a transfer somewhere else in NY?
I think he could be hitting on high schoolers playing Usnavi.

I had the great joy to be there last night for the final show. Although I was in th last row of the theatre you could see the love the cast has for each other and they give it everything and more. I have had the joy to work with cast twice on benefits and they are the most loving and caring people. I have been to three closing nights on Broadway and have never seen so many standing ovations. All I can say is Wow Wow Wow.

That was PRICELESS.
Last night was unbelievable, definitely not one I will forget. The energy and LOVE in that theatre was like nothing I've ever seen. I am so grateful for this show and will miss it.
