It is possible that one day someone will have the balls to revive Carrie someday, but it doesn't seem likely. I think to compare the chances of it getting revived to the chances of Rocky Horror's revival is flawed logic. The original Broadway production of Rocky was indeed a huge flop, but a revival was imminent because of a wildly successful cult classic movie and several successful productions world wide. Carrie does not have that. There is no successful film version of Carrie the musical playing every week, there have not been any legal productions of it done anywhere, and though it does have a small following from bootleg recordings, it is not a large enough following to keep the show afloat for any real length of time.
Rocky Horror was a good investment and may have lasted longer had they not had to deal with 9/11 during the run and go on a weeks long hiatus. The lack of tourism during that time hurt a lot of shows.

I think the problem with reviving Carrie is that the score is so bad, I actually can't listen to it for more than 25 seconds. Even by watching those reviews I posted, I had to pause it, go to another room, and burn off some steam before I could continue watching the review. I can not fine a word to describe how bad the score is. Abysmal, horrendous, and disgusting are all WAY to friendly too describe how bad it is. WAY too friendly. However, there is one good song... the song between Carrie and her mother (Evening Prayers is it?). The score would have to be completely rewritten.

13 may not ever see the lights of broadway again, but it could have some regional success, a successful TV movie followed by a national tour (a la "High School Musical"), there's potential in there.
oh yes, it will be successful regionally perhaps but it will NEVER make its way back to Broadway, ever.
And I don't think it will ever tour nationally.

I think it could tour actually. If the disney channel picks it up one of these days and makes it into a movie, a tour would definitely come after.
Why would Disney pick it up when they already have High School Musical?

Yeah, disney would NEVER want to shove another crappy musical down our throats to make a ton of money. Never ever.
Seriously, I'm not saying Disney will pick it up... but I would be unsurprised if they did.

I'd say we are unlikely to ever see the following:
Mail
The News
The Red Shoes
Uptown...It's Hot!
Wind in the Willows (although the song they did on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was fun and showed Nathan Lane, Vicki Lewis, and David Carroll.)
I want to say Big but I am not sure. I only say that I am not sure because it is the first show I saw on Broadway. But, considering that it has had much success in the regional and community theatre circuit I feel like anything can happen with regards to that show. Who knows.
I do think that there is a chance that Tale Of Two Cities might be revived. I remember reading on here (and I don't remember who said it, if I did I would give them credit) but I think that the theatre that they were in was a problem. I think that the Hirschfeld was too small in terms of stage size to fit the set. Granted, I think that they did the best that they could but I don't think that due to the size of the stage, the set was able to have that wow factor that they were looking for.
Seeing the set on that small stage made me think of Les Miserables being on a smaller stage yet having that big set when it was at the Broadhurst and thus looking very much out of place.
If Disney picked up 13 do you think they'd change the line:
"If that's what it is, then that's what it is
at least until Disney can rewrite it"
Taboo, even though it is one of my favorite scores

I wish they WOULD revive "Rags." I wouldn't mind seeing that one.

"Platinum".
I saw it twice in Philadelphia pre-Broadway. And it kills me that it was never recorded.
It was, sort of, under the name Sunset
It is long out of print
FLAHOOLEY - unless maybe John Tartaglia wants to get involved. Can't imagine who would do the Yma Sumac part, though!
