THE WEDDING SINGER. To this day, I wear my WEDDING SINGER hat when I am rushing shows just to let people know, you missed a damn good show.
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**

Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!
Lestat (Seriously the WORST musical I've ever seen in Broadway LOL...I had the feeling it was going to close quickly so of course I HAD to see it) The Wedding Singer (Which was surprisingly good, IMO. The choreography rocked, and the songs were quite enjoyable. And I LOVE Felicia Finley!) The Pirate Queen (It wasn't TERRIBLE...but it could def use some work)
Did anyone see "The Blond in the Thunderbird"? It was supposedly so awful, people were reinacting scenes from it at the Duplex. LOL. I wish I had seen it.
My favorite big flops are Carrie, Side Show and Metro.
Flops that deserved to be the most are Aint Broadway Grand and Nick and Nora.
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
Blonde in the Thunderbird was atrocious ... a complete embarrassment. It was one of those "look at all the crap I've been through, and see how I've survived" shows. Suzanne even brought out a cart with all her HSN products, and ended the show as if she were a guru, looking at the audience and saying "if I can do it, you can do it too!" Don't know which was worse ... this or Bobbi Boland.
In no real order..... La Cage revival (3x) Coram Boy (I loved this show!) Six Dance Lessons... Dracula Sweeny Todd revival Gypsy revival Souvenir (liked this one a lot!) Little Shop Love Musik Wonderful Town (Donna Murphy 2 x) Festen The Lieutenant of Inishmore (LOVED this one to death!!) Company revival
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Well if you didn't enjoy wedding singer I am guessing (just guessing...) that High Fidelity wasn't your cup of tea either. I hate when people go to see shows like WS and HF and expect to be moved like they are in shows like Grey Gardens. And for the record, WS stayed open much longer the Grey Gardens. Both great shows, but respect their differences.
In conclusion, love what is I do!!! and apparently give in these messages lol

Im going to see one tonight in the West End -'Bad Girls-The Musical' Its the second time ive seen it -its that bad.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
Is it sad that I wish I were seeing Bad Girls the Musical? I actually find that show to be thoroughly amusing and the idea of it as a musical just makes me wonder how it could be done without being weird. Wooo G Wing.
i didnt go to the Wedding singer to be moved. i went to the wedding singer cause i love lynch, spanger and benanti and because i wanted to be entertained. well instead i was bored and annoyed. the writing was awful (on all counts, book, lyrics and score).
The CD is due for release in December so will get your wish

Is it? That should be fascinating. I'll have to get it because the idea of...Shell or Denny or...well, any of those characters in song is just bizarre.
Well i have never seen the TV show so i went in cold 2 weeks ago but had a good time. Some of the actresses are brilliant. Are you UK or US based, will you see it?

'Fields Of ambrosia' London 1993 A young guy gets gang raped in prison and as they run away he sings a song with the lyric 'If it aint one thing its another!' In less than 1 week it was gone!

Carrie Rockabye Hamlet Legs Diamond Via Galactica Lolita Breakfast at Tiffany's (The first show I ever saw. I wonder why I ever went back to Broadway)
And my all-time-favorite:
The Moose Murders
(I keep waiting for another one to come along but that will probably never happen. I'm no fan of Frank Rich but hepretty much nailed it in his review:)
"FROM now on, there will always be two groups of theatergoers in this world: those who have seen 'Moose Murders,' and those who have not. Those of us who have witnessed the play that opened at the Eugene O'Neill Theater last night will undoubtedly hold periodic reunions, in the noble tradition of survivors of the Titanic. Tears and booze will flow in equal measure, and there will be a prize awarded to the bearer of the most outstanding antlers. As for those theatergoers who miss 'Moose Murders' - well, they just don't rate. A visit to 'Moose Murders' is what will separate the connoisseurs of Broadway disaster from mere dilettantes for many moons to come."
Wow, D2 - I am jealous of your seeing Mack and Mabel. I love the score, thought I've heard the show was too much of a downer to be a hit. But what a score and cast!
For me, I've always remembered the first Brodway (bound) show I saw. It was "Hot September" in Boston for a pre-Broadway tryout. It was the musical version of "Picnic" and I loved it. Maybe if it hadn't been my first musical experience (except for a touring version of "Brigadoon" I saw as a child),I wouldn't have liked it as much. But I remember being knocked out by it. Too bad the producers (Leland Hayward and David Merrick) gave up on it without even trying to fix it. It closed after it's Boston run and was never heard from again, even though the reviews weren't terrible, just mixed.
