Please forgive me if there have already been 800 threads already about this footage, but I just found it and I am speechless!

The original cast and production of "Chicago" is one of those shows that I would build a time machine to go back and see. So, this footage is like a rift in the space/time continum allowing me to see nine minutes of this show.
And, having only seen the revival production, it's weird seeing COLOR in the costuming!
And I have a question, the costumes at the end where they're singing "Loopin' The Loop", are those the same costumes that they wore when the song got changed to "Nowadays"? I've only seen the clips of them doing it from the Howard Costell variety show and on the Mike Douglas and they're wearing those white outfits.

There was a thread on this--but it's always good to see again. The thread was pretty long--explaining hwo they were filmed in rehearsal out of town, etc.
I *think* the costumes were pretty close to the Nowadays ones... but don't quote me
But the original costumes were pretty colourful/elaborate--gotta love the guys in Roxie dancing in polka dot briefs...

Again... this 8mm home movie footage was shot during a dress rehearsal of the show's out-of-town tryout in Boston. It was shot by John Kander.

Brody, neither Kander nor Ebb shot it. It was shot by Candy Brown, one of the ladies of the ensemble. It would make sense that Ebb and Kander shot it, but they did not.
And Chicago played its out of town engagement in Philly. Not Boston.

I stand corrected. I was always told the try-out was in Boston and the footage was shot by John Kander.
PalJoey... time for the Geritol you old, tired and aging boob.
Your attempts at throwing jabs at me only fuel my nasty ways, seriously. I thought old people were supposed to be "older and wiser" and refrain by dealing with dip****s like me.
You proven otherwise.
Again... this IS a Message Board. I guess its more than that to you.

I own my age, mister, and my wisdom too.
Unlike you, I never lie about my professional contacts and the connections I have made, nor do I use them in a futile attempt to "impress" people on an anonymous message board.
You have no contacts better than other people on the board. You have no experiences more significant than other people on the board. You have no secret tapes or DVDs more special than other people on the board. You are not greater than other people on the board. Your constant attempts to pretend that you are only render you pathetic.
You brag about "fueling" your "nasty ways," like a child bragging about the tantrums he throws. Any need to engage in such deliberately antisocial behaviors as an adult is only evidence of a sad and damaged psyche.
If you knew what your "nasty ways" actually communicated about who you are as a person, you would stop. And if you were unable to stop, you would seek help. But as you think that these "nasty ways" are fun, we can all do only one thing: pity you. Not scorn you, which is what you seem to desire, but pity you with revulsion, as we would a rabid rat caught in a trap.
And, no, you don't know Shirley MacLaine.

Blah-blah-blah.
You need to find a better venue for your pearls of wisdom instead of wasting those precious gems ON A MESSAGE BOARD!!!
I'm nothing but a mere a**hole, posting on a Broadway message board. I'm nothing but a Message Board character called: BrodyFosse123. How and why you, a wise old man, have chosen to take all my statements and comments so personally, speaks volumes about yourself.
In the words of the great Rula Lenska: LET IT GO! They need to up your meds at the nursing home. It'll help you cope with the online a**holes like me, which are in plentiful.
Enjoy the pies, grandpa. This isn't real life... or is it?
NOTE: you can stop sending me those endless PMs. They're no longer amusing but are getting pretty damn creepy.
