I Was just wondering if any of you Wicked fans could share some little known secrets about the show and/or story.

For example:
1. "I Don't think you understand, you're having delusions of granduer" from Defying Gravity is actually "Follow the Yellow Brick Road"
2. She's sitting when she is lifted.
3. Elphaba is actually L.F.B. - the initials of L. Frank Baum.

Anyone else know anything more?

The melody "UNLIMITED" that is repeated throughout the show is actually "Somewhere over the rainbow", and sorry, but she isn't sitting.She stands on a platform and is raised up.

i love, wicked, i really do. i've never seen the show but the obc recording is a staple for me. also, i haven't known about bww for more than 2 weeks and really, there are MILLIONS of threads about this on the message board. i suggest you look there for one.

Hey! I'm a HUGE Wicked Fan I saw the show 12/19. I've been rtying to figure things out about it and I have most of it. What did you need to know??

Are you sure shes raised up on a platform??I really thought she was one a string and had that black backdrop behind her.I wasn't sure though.When I first saw it on B'WAY:The American Musical, it did look like platform but seeing it live it looked like strings.

I won the lotto so I had front row BB seats 1 & 3 on the side. Since it was on the side, you could kinda see how she was being lifted. I couldn't see a platform or anything but I saw that she's connected in the middle of her back by something. But I assume there is a platform since she wouldn't be able to breath or sing ok if she was being hung.

she has a mechanical arm around her mid section that raises her, also on a platform that rises so the ozians can come out and scream "bring her down..."

Does anybody know how Boq turns into the Tinman in like 5 seconds? I was listening to Chatterbox w/ Cheno last night & she said "It's so funny and really obvious. But my mom said to me 'How did they do that??!?!?!'"

Boq goes behind the chest. Behind the chest is a stand in, already dressed as the tin man. Boq enters in the chest as the stand in gets in his place in the wheel chair. When it is rolled back out, We see his stand in stand up, while Boq goes to get in his real Tin Man costume. (hence why you never see his face as he stands)

The last time I saw it, I specifically watched everything that went on. It was obvious that it was not Christopher Fitzgerald who stood up, because he was much taller, and his lip-synching was "off"

I am pretty sure I figured out the flying thing when I went on Tuesday....
Idina climbs into a box thing with a platform. The skirt you see is not really what she is wearing, but is a skirt attached to the box. For one thing, you don't see her feet, which you should be able to do, and her upper body is moving while her bottom half isn't, and her torso looks a bit disconnected from her "skirt." Hope that makes sense.

She's definitely standing on a platform. Completely ruins the effect, but it's still cool.

yeah, something is around her waste - you can see it from the sides...

also, she said in an interview and motioned it at the tonys, tthat she has something around her waste - which is why she can't have a baby any time soon...

If she IS standing on a platform, That huge skirt that is around her obviously hides it right??? But i have a feeling she isn't standing on anything. I'll have to ask someone who works for the show. I really wanna clear this up! lol

I have an idea of how we can clear it up..We can write to Idina at the gershwin I've written to her once already and she writes back..well someone writes back haha but we could..I could write to her and ask
