How come all threads related to "Wicked" seem to end up in arguements????? Gosh.....

Wait, I don't get how "I Don't think you understand, you're having delusions of granduer" from Defying Gravity is actually "Follow the Yellow Brick Road"...
Justice: did you mean the melody and notes are the same? Could you explain that one to me please? Thanks!
Elphie...sing it...then sing "Follow the Yellow brick road". They are the same notes.
What I don't hear is "Unlimited" with "Over the Rainbow"

THANK YOU noellelizbeth!!
I wanted to add this: The intro music to "Home" in The Wiz (it's playing now) sounds almost exactly like the into to "I'm Not that Girl."
I have found the little subtle references to other Oz stories make the show interesting. I found that there were new things to enjoy with each time I saw the show or listened to the CD.

i dunno if it was done on purpose...
here's something i kind of figured out....
In my thtr design class I am making a storyboard and using green in the background ....green represents hope...
I never realized it until i started the design - at the end of WAI the whole background turned green - as Elphaba is HOPING to meet the wizard...
Good point..but accidental, I think.
Why is the dragon there? I'm curious. I know it's signifigance is in the book, as I have read it and I'm well aware of the Time of the Clock Dragon (although it makes no sense in the book, either). But, the only reference to the Dragon clock in the show is when Glinda announces what time Elphie died. But the clock is behind her.
As for the people who have never read the book - What is the relevance of that horrid piece of stagecraft hanging from the ceiling that squeaks and is rope pulled by costumed stagehands?
maybe accidental, maybe not - i mean he is a good designer...but in my thing it is not an accident lol
Well, the clock is in the time dragon...so in a way the show is taking place as, let's say, a history story inside the dragon clock....
IT does move around when Elphie does something magical...remember, it predicted her birth and "told" the munckins to kill Melena before the baby could be born...
And an anatomically correct rubber doll at that...
What I don't hear is "Unlimited" with "Over the Rainbow"
The timing is slightly different. But it really is the same.

I'm going to clear up the "defying Gravity" drama......CLEARLY IDINA MENZEL CAN FLY. That's all.

I def agree. Is there anything Idina can't do?
Also, I think the purpose of the Dragon is just to amaze the audiance and to assure they won the Tony for sets (which they succeeded at)
When I went backstage, I got to hold the green baby doll. It's so heavy.
I also got to hold the bucket of water, which had no water, but is heavy to make it look like it's filled with water when the actor picks it up.
