rmusic, she did a few things but for example, the line: "If you do things for the Wizard, he will do things for you..." she did this thing where she licked her lips then bit down.

oh i cant even tell you all how happy i get when a new wicked thread comes up! i know that these threads might seem out-dated for some...but i never saw wicked until this year (sad i know)...but yea always figured it would just ruin my love of the wizard of oz for some reason...ANYWAY....the best elphie in my opinion, is Dee Roscioli. I've seen her and Jenny DiNoia but Dee really does it for me. I admit after seeing videos on youtube of other actresses that it would be nice to see her liven the roll up a bit or riff here and there...but i simply love her. She still has such a powerful voice after all these years of playing a demanding role.
i really enjoyed Erin Mackey is the best Glinda I've seen live. I've seen Laura Wosyack? and Katie Rose...Katie is really funny but i love Erin's voice...very strong, clear and controlled. Her chemistry with Dee was great as well. Katie definitely seems to bring a lot to the show and the 2 times that i've seen her since she's been on...she always has Dee cracking up during Popular.
I think Rondi Reed is the best Madame Morrible and the only other one i've seen was an understudy but she didn't do it for me and i forgot her name. Angela Lansbury though? that might be good.

ps- i dont know if people like nicole parker but i saw her stuff on you tube and personally got the chills during her last Defying Gravity...the way she says/yells "to those who ground me"....love it!

Watching someone's performance on YouTube is not equivalent to seeing them (and passing judgment) in-person. Please stop reviewing based on grainy, shaky bootlegs...

Kristen Chenoweth was my fav Glinda until last night when I saw an understudy in SF named Alexa something. I loved her! My fav Elphabas are Eden Espinosa and Teal Wicks.

I have seen live...
Kristy Cates, Sarah Jane Everman (u/s), Rondi Reed
Carrie Manolakos (s/b), Helene' Yorke, and Marilyn Caskey
They were all wonderful. I've seen full videos of most principle actors, though I have never seen a high quality video of Kristin Chenoweth.
My favorite Glinda is a pretty easy one- Sarah Jane Everman. She was perfect in the role and its a shame she never became principle. I also adored Annaleigh Ashford in the role.
An Elphaba is much harder to choose because I like a so many different aspects of different performers in the role. Carole Shelley and Rondi Reed are in my opinion the best Morribles.
