Hey, I was just wondering if there was anyone that comes out and signs at the stage door of Front Page or if they tend to go out another way or just walk out. I'm looking at going but was curious if I should try and stage door after
Thanks

Based off past shows, Lane is usually not seen at the door...

The only thing Nathan Lane hates more than being nice is having to be around his fans.

Went to a matinee so this may not be typical. Jefferson Mays, Christopher McDonald, John Goodman, Dan Florek, and Clarke Thorell came out. John Goodman was hit or miss, he only signed for some. Robert Morse walked out without signing.

Went last night and a bunch came out and signed. Jefferson Mays and and Holland Taylor came out and signed and talked. They were both lovely and went above and beyond. Dylan Baker, Dann Florek, Christopher McDonald, Joey Slotnick, and Clarke Thorell all signed too. I may have missed a couple.

Has anyone gotten to speak to John Goodman at the stage door? Is he a nice guy? I've always been curious.

Is Sherie Rene coming out? She's the only one I'm into.

The subject of actors appearing (or not appearing) at the stage door comes up a lot on these boards. In response to the post about Lane disliking the stage door and his fans is really unfair. It is important to remember that NO ACTOR is obligated to do the stage door and that many actors a) are not as outgoing as you might like and find the stage door awkward and b) are tired after a performance and want to eat or go home and rest. The only thing an actor is obligated to do is to deliver a full on performance. While we may all want to meet them and spend time with them, it isn't in their contract. As for whether this actor likes his fans, I would hazard a guess that he has never confided his hatred to you so perhaps this is your opinion but it is only an assumption. I have actually seen this actor sign and take pictures and have also seen other actors do the same (many who people say are distant and aloof). So, it does depend on the show, the day, their health, their schedule etc.

No, it's not unfair to say Lane doesn't like dealing with fans since that's true.

I saw it Thursday and he was the first one out, escorted straight to a car. Didn't sign or talk to anyone

In the subject of Lane, while he didn't come out at the show I attended, the woman next to me had a copy of his children's book. She asked Clarke Thorell if he thought Lane would sign it, and Thorell, rather nicely, took it back inside and got Lane to sign it. The woman was thrilled.
