Did anyone get the magazine today?
There's a wonderful spread on the HAIRSPRAY movie with a great picture of Nicole and John dancing in, what has to be, "Welcome to the 60s."
There's also a great shot of Queen Latifah sporting the beehive.
I'd scan it, but my scanner's at school right now and I'm not there.
great pic...i just have to get used to john as edna. its a differnt take. Nicky looks amazing. She SOOO looks like a younger Marrissa. They are adorbale together. The Queen also looks fab. Have they not shot any of Michelle's things yet?
I LOVE how everyone has seen this but me.

AhhH! Cannot wait for this movie!!
Every picture I see of Nikki is cuter than the previous. I am really excited to see her in the film.
Haha, I see that. A little...bigger...than Alisan though. (no offense)
I was expecting more discussion on this photo... may be some are taking the "If you can't say anything nice approach."
Although, I hope not.
Thanks for posting the picture, mateo. It sure is cute. Maybe more people will comment on it tomorrow during the day.
Please let this movie be good... please let this movie be good...

Two things bother me. In this image, as with all of the others, Travolta reads as "older sister and kid sister". Not "mother and daughter". I do not like the fact that they changed Tracy's style now. It has nothing to do with it being realistic vs stylized or finished film and lighting.. or even it being different than the stage version. Tracy has the vision. TRACY does not really change over the course of the show. She is the FORCE that moves everything... I like that everything changes around her.. but not her. Including what it is all about. The hair. I DO kind of like that Edna adopts the teased flip that is iconic of Trcay.. she is coming out of her shall under the guidance of Trcay.. and she adopts her 'do.
I love the fact that Johns panties are showing.

I am excited for Reina Latifah.
I'm still very excited to see this movie. And I don't think Travolta will be bad at all. But is it just me or does it just look like they aren't doing enough to make Travolta look like.....oh I dunno....A woman? Right now he just looks like John in a wig. At least Divine was in full drag and Harvey was too. Why not attempt the same with him. It doesn't even look like they have any make up on him. Am I alone in this, cause I don't think I've heard or read anyone else mention it yet?
carl - I think they are going for a realistic look with Edna and want to shy away from the over use of makeup. I would assume production doesnt want people for a second to think Edna's chracter was once a man or is a drag queen.
Also Divine was Divine and Harvey was a "stage" Edna... so the makeup is overly dramatic and glamorized so it can read on stage.
Broadwayguy- I think this is the only time Tracy will change her look ie. her hair do. In the scene they get makeovers- and it makes sense that Tracy would get her hair done too. I hate that in the musical all they do is change out a bow on her wig.

The fact that Tracy's style never makes any real change is a very important point.. on many levels... and a very concious choice that I back fully and believe in 100%.
For the record, on stage, that bow doesn't change until well into act two
really the bow doesnt change in welcome to the 60s? I thought it did. hm.
well- I know what you mean on the hair-do, does it bother you that in the original film Tracys opts to straighten it? or does it just matter for the musical?
I mean they may bring that straightening the hair element back into this movie- although I doubt it.
