What about Normas that could have been? I don’t care how much the keys would’ve been lowered, I would have been first in line to see Eartha Kitt take on Norma. I’ve always wondered if she was offered.

I remember it was said in 1996 that ALW had offered Jennifer Holiday the part to replace Buckley. She went to see the production with Diahann Carroll and met up with her after the show. Carroll supposedly talked her out of it, telling her how physically and vocally exhausting it was. 
 

I wonder if she would consider it now if offered?

Apparently Cher was offered to open the Toronto production in the 90s.
