I was talking to a friend who saw and really liked the show, I think it would of been a success if it had run now, hot boys in board shorts and Beach Boys songs are what we need!!!! Any thoughts?

Bad is bad no matter when it comes out.

I say something should have begun this summer, besides Kiki and Herb & Martin Short. It's so...dead.

Are you related to brian by any chance?
WeddedBliss22 - you obviously didn't see GOOD VIBRATIONS did you?

It definitely should of.
People are definitely more into beaches now. Look at the thriving Gary Beach Encounters thread on this board.

Sure, it still would have been bad, but, yes, it had more of a chance of success had it come out in the summer.
That's like saying THE BLONDE AND THE THUDERBIRD should have opened during the holiday season! Bad theatre is bad theatre people!
If Good Vibrations had opened this summer, it still would have gotten awful reviews and it still would have flopped. Opening during the summer wouldn't change the fact that it's a bad show.
EDIT: WonderBoy, you beat me to it, lol!
So it was THAT bad, wow, I Googled some pictures of it and the cast was HOT, I love that Heath Calvert!

HOT guys are enough to keep most shows open.

wee-oo-wee-oo-wee-oo, Grammar Police!
That is true Mr. Namo, I like musicals that feature Hot guys the best!!!
While there was some nice eye candy, it was a painful train wreck to witness on stage!
I agree, WonderBoy. Good Vibrations was a disaster! It would flop no matter what time of the year it opened.
It was just a bad bad show. Winter was a better time for it anyway. Why should I go watch people on the beach in the summer, when I can go to the beach myself?

Why is it that people use *of* instead of *have*?
While I agree, why do people feel the need to constantly correct other peoples grammar?

I loved it....granted, I had comps and paid nothing....
Where you drunk yankeefan007?

I think it's because we say "should've," but people think it's "should of."
But that doesn't make it right. It pains my English major soul, though. Deeply.

Wonderboy, my tickets were free. How can you hate something that's free? The show, I'll admit, was total dreck. It was worse than a bad high school production of Sweeney Todd. But it was free. I would have demanded a refund if I had paid for it.

wonderboy, I don't constant correct the grammar of others. However, it does amaze me how many people make these kinds of mistakes. Who knows, perhaps someone might take the correction in the light that it's given, and actually learn something. Then again, maybe people would prefer to be wrong.
Good point erinrebecca! I know I am that kind of person but unfortunately those that are willing to take the correction and use it for future purposes are few and far between. Just wasn't sure if you were one of those grammar Nazi's that pop up here from time to time and that is all they do.
yankeefan007 - At least you didn't pay for it!
YankeeFan .. you're not making any sense. In one posting, you say you loved it, and in the next posting you say if you paid for it, you would have asked for a refund and that it was dreck. So obviously, you didn't love it. And you ask "How can you hate something that's free?" What does what you pay or don't pay have to do with liking or hating a show? Just because something is free doesn't mean its good or likable. Just about everybody in town who saw Good Vibrations got in for free ... they couldn't give those tickets away. And what a turkey it was. One of the worst shows ever.
