Oh my god! THANK YOU for these phenomenal pictures!

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Is it just me, or does the second Gertrude Lawrence pic look a little bit like Julia Murney?

Frankly, the first time I saw the photo, I thought Clay Aiken.

allofmylife, thanks for these. Now, regarding the CAMELOT photo, the first production of CAMELOT produced after NY was the Australian production, the local producers weren't taken with the Broadway set designs and engaged local Melbourne designer John Truscott to design their production. The designs were so effective that they were used for the Theatre Royal London presentation in your photo. When Hollywood made the movie version John Truscott designed the film and won an Oscar for his efforts. Just a little background history. Updated On: 1/20/08 at 08:11 AM

These are wonderful! How did you dig up all this info?

But how was anyone supposed to afford a 10 cent ticket, for crying out loud? I guess theater was just for the wealthy in those days...

The London production was bigger. Drury Lane must have been shaking at certain points.
