American Psycho was not in the Old Vic, honey.

Jeez. Read posts properly before you go on the attack. I live in London and yes I have seen Groundhog Day.

Actually laughing over my salad. Thanks for that.

Anycase shows that show American history in a poor light - fail, look at Parade and Scottsboro Boys, that is why Enron also failed, which I understand Americans wouldn't like a British show coming over and preaching about their history. I would feel the same if the Americans did the same in the West End.
Uh oh. You won't take very kindly to HAMILTON when it comes your way, then. Avoid at all costs...

I saw GHD last weekend and will be queueing up again this weekend for returns with 2 of my friends, both of whom will be seeing it for the 4th time (i know them through different friend groups but they met for the first time in the returns queue for GHD last weekend and both had chosen individually to see it more than once). I absolutely adored it and found myself humming the songs as i left the theatre. I cant wait to see it again and just with that i had booked my ticket for earlier int eh run so that i could have seen it as my times as my friends! I cant wait to see it on broadway too!

OK. Your opinion does not invalidate mine.
^Emma MK neither said nor implied it does.
neon, honest question – is publicly hating on this show going to be a hang-up for you? This happens once in a while, where a poster doesn’t like a show and, rather than being content to voice that opinion and move on, they have this compulsion to not let any praise (or even sometimes mention – see: After Eight) of the show go by unchecked.
I’m just curious if we have this to look forward to all the way through spring of 2017. Because if not, rest assured that we get it – you didn’t enjoy the show.

No, I'm over it already. BroadwayConcierge, you literally asked me in this thread TODAY whether I liked it.
Emma MK quoted my response to BroadwayConcierge. I responded to her because she directly responded to me.
You guys are fun.

Get off your bike HONEY---we know your repeated thoughts already--are you trying single-handed to say that 'without my imput this show would certainly have failed?'.
Repor card---Failed [hopefully] because one persons' opinion DOESN'T close a show.

neon, I asked why you’re so opposed to it, not whether or not you do. Your stance on that is overtly clear.

Your post
"neon, apologies if I've missed you saying this somewhere earlier, but have you seen the show? You seem way less than optimistic for it, so I'm curious where that mindset is coming from!"
Well… I wasn’t acting like that… even a little bit, but… your point is noted. I’ll remember to also not do it in the future.
Whoop, there it is.

I saw it on a visit to London last month and thought it was just ok. Expectations were high because some people had seen it and loved it so much. I also thought Tim Minchin's score for Matilda was absolutely brilliant. I was hoping GHD would have that same magic. For me, it did not. It's all in the eye of the beholder, while my response was "meh" some ladies in our row were sobbing at the end. I don't think this is a huge hit that will sweep the Tonys.

Yeah that was my reaction too, although my audience seemed to agree with me as it didn't even get a standing ovation (which are a lot, lot less rare in London than people like to make out).
Regardless, Andy truly was brilliant and I'm glad he's reprising the role.
SHAKING AND CRYING!!!
ANDY KARL WAS BRILLIANT IN THE LONDON PRODUCTION... HE MUST WIN THE TONY NEXT YEAR ... OMG!!!!!! HE IS SUCH A TALENT!!!!
Also they NEED to re-cast the female lead... She was sooo basic
OMG I LOVE ANDY KARL!!!!
Started getting genuinely worried why you were taking so long to post in response to the news, Skimble ![]()
How about an Andy Karl-Jessie Mueller reunion?!

I liked Carlyss Peer but they will definitely recast her. Her performance wasn't good enough for them to want to bring her over. They need someone quirky for this part.

And you Karl will blow Broadway away with his performance in this, and he WILL win the Tony

A ridiculous statement to make at this point. This isn't last season, there are no sure bets this year. Is Karl giving a performance worthy of a Tony? Absolutely. But there are plenty of other performances to come that could be even more worthy.

Nah. I saw Karl and Ben Platt. It's Ben Platt's Tony. Move on.
