Somethingwicked, I'm not terribly familiar with Titus or his work, but just because he riffed a lot in TLM (and JB?), where riffing was appropriate, doesn't mean he'll riff at all in G&D, where it's not appropriate to the same extent. I'm sure if the Music Director tells him not to riff, he won't riff.

Wow, sorry for the grammar.

bwaylvsong, in everything I've ever seen him do, Burgess have never failed to fill his material with the same high riffs.

From shows where you'd consider that style of singing "appropriate" (like THE LITTLE MERMAID and JERSEY BOYS) to shows where you wouldn't (like GOOD VIBRATIONS,) it's the same thing over and over again.

I personally find him to be a lesser version of Billy Porter (though still very talented,) but perhaps that's just me.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
