Nice!!! If some of you don't want to read the newly staged ending..don't read the last paragraph of the review.
I can't wait for more.

I'm guessing reviews will follow suit with the Encores! set, where almost every review was a rave.
"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."

Wickedboy, All Broadway reviews pour in the evening and night of the opening.

Ok, its not the way its done the Uk then. Reviews are banned before the opening night. Some papers, the day after, are printed too early to carry the reviews so they trickle in over the following 2 or 3 days. x

Is Mr. Windman old enough to have attended the original production??? Or the Lansbury revival? Or even the Tyne Daly
revial??? He looks very young in his photo.
Just wonder how he can call this the definitive production.
Lets argue.

Can we NOT argue, Mr. Director? And just enjoy the reviews.
Every Gypsy thread turns into arguing because of 2 or 3 members.

I hate it when pull qoutes don't provide the entire line.
It should read:
"In three months, we suspect LuPone will reach for a well-earned Tony, which will be snatched up by Faith Prince from under her nose."

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

I just listened to the audio of Matt Windman's review, and I don't think I can take that review seriously anymore lol. I can't wait to read the other reviews...

I suspect it'll open to raves, and something tells me Brantley will change his lukewarm review of Patti's performance to a more solid positive notice.

How can anyone take seriously a line like "This is arguably the definitive production of what is unquestionably a perfect musical" ? Translation: "This is beyond awesome, man!!!!"
I know 8th graders whose writing is more articulate, sophisticated and persuasive than this. As Truman Capote once said, "That's not writing. That's typing."
Not trying to be mean, but, really!

I was there Tues night as was Brantley. He had BIG smile on his face. Her performance has changed for the better since the summer production, as has everyones... We'll see...
And HI Pennywise!!
I understand your comment, but the show Tues was so "awesome" that I, also, was reduced to a bubbling idiot! Hehehe.

I hope this thread doesn't get too nasty. But I have a feeling that a lot more haters will make there presence know here as the night progresses.
