GYPSY playbill question
GYPSY playbill question#1

The GYPSY playbill is still in color, right? If so it is mostly blue, correct? Therefore, a metallic sharpie is the best to use for autographies, right?
Thanks!

Posted: 6/19/08 at 9:47pmwhen I went on tuesday it was blue with patti in the red dress and just said "gypsy" patti's name was not on the cover. i know on the view it had her name but I think that's something that was created just for the view.

Posted: 6/19/08 at 11:23pmDoes anyone know if the poster is blue or red or what? CUz I'm going tomorrow and have a metallic. Thanks!
re: GYPSY playbill question#4
Posted: 6/19/08 at 11:24pmThe poster is blue with Patti in her Red dress, if they changed it yet.
re: GYPSY playbill question#5
Posted: 6/19/08 at 11:27pmFrom what I saw today at Colony, it's blue with Patti in red.
re: GYPSY playbill question#6
Posted: 6/19/08 at 11:54pmShe's wearing a blue dress in my Playbill (from April).
re: GYPSY playbill question#7
Posted: 6/20/08 at 4:08amThe three times that I went to the show, Patti had her own black marker to sign with- she refused to use other markers that were handed to her. Don't know if she's still doing that-

I saw the show on Tuesday (the first performance after the Tonys) and she had her own black Sharpie and the Playbill AND poster are in color- blue background with Patti in her Red dress
re: GYPSY playbill question#9
Posted: 6/20/08 at 8:56amWhen I saw the show, Patti used a metallic silver Sharpie, so I guess she's mixing it up a little. (I don't remember any of the other cast members having their own Sharpie.)
re: GYPSY playbill question#10
Posted: 6/20/08 at 9:37amI've never asked her to sign anything, but I think it's rather nice that she carries her own writing implement with her. I have seen people with no pen ask for a performer's autograph after a show and then everyone's srambling around looking for a pen. It wastes a lot of people's time when that happens.
re: GYPSY playbill question#11
Posted: 6/20/08 at 10:30amShe will have a pen. The door guy will either give her one or she will have her own. She probably doesn't want to keep grabbing pens from people and stuff and she probably doesn't want to touch other people's pens cause you don't know where they have been.

Quick question about Patti and stagedooring:
How often does Patti stagedoor? And is the stagedoor usually really crowded?
Thank you!

Posted: 10/2/08 at 11:18pmWhy the change to a black and white playbill? I understand Xanadu also had a black and white playbill? What other shows do too?

When I saw Gypsy just about a month ago, the Playbill was black & white and Patti would only sign it with her gray marker. I wish she used a different color since the gray gets lost on the black & white cover. Here's some photos I took at the stage door.

I think they change over to the black-and-white playbills to save money, don't they?
What's weird though is that when I saw Gypsy in July I got a black-and-white playbill, then saw it a month later and got one in color, then saw it another month later and got another b/w one. And when I sent a letter to Laura she sent back a colored one. So... yeah. :shrugs:
Oh and about the Patti / stage door question, which this thread was bumped for... I've never stage-doored any of the times I've seen it, but I believe that Patti only comes out after the evening shows, not after matinees ( w/ the exception of Sunday since they only have one show).

I hope I somehow get a coloured playbill then! haha
And thanks for your help! I am seeing an evening show (rushing for it hopefully) so does she usually come out on most evenings or is it like once every so often? Oh and how are the crowds?
re: GYPSY playbill question#20
Posted: 10/3/08 at 1:01amWent again last night (Patti got a standing O after ROSES TURN and was fantastic...Laura was especially on the ball) and the Playbills were black and white.

You're welcome, Jonna!
From what I've heard/read, she comes out after every (evening) show. And judging by pictures I've seen, it does look like a pretty decent sized crowd. Nothing like Equus across the street, but ya know.
Wickedrocks - Aw, you're making me miss the show even more! I have to get back there soon. And glad to hear that Patti and Laura are still on top of their game.

Please tell me you're all joking about the b&w Playbill for GYPSY> I was planning on seeing the show again next week but refuse to see any show that has a b&w Playbill.
Tell me this is a prank!
re: GYPSY playbill question#24
Posted: 10/3/08 at 6:49pmThe way the economy is right now, it probably is b&w.
