I'm so happy for his success in "Hair" and his coming out in The Advocate. I have adored him since "Millie" and it's nice to see that he was inspired by others and he in turn will inspire those that come after. Bravo, Gavin Creel!

Seems like a nice, classy, down-to-earth guy...and he sings like an angel. Gotta love him!
What a great interview. Makes me love him even more. :)

Who is the Christopher he refers to being inspired by? Hanke? I wasn't aware he ever came out publically, but I can't think of another Christopher.
Chris Sieber
Yeah, it took me a few tries to get the Advocate page to work on my Blackberry. PalJoey's quote ommited that part part of the question so I was confused what Christopher had achieved first-name-only status.
Sorry to confuse! Since Chris Sieber came out in the New York Times a few years ago, in a Style section piece on the island in upstate New York where he and his lover own a house, it didn't even occur to me that anyone would be confused.
Also, they appeared together in Broadway Bares a few years ago, in that incredibly erotic Batman/Robin piece.
He has been one of my favorites for awhile now. His solo cd is fun too if anyone hasn't given it a try.
The quote about why he came out publically touched me. What a lovely person.
It's alright, PalJoey, it was my mistake. I knew about Chris Sieber, but out of context didn't associate him with this interview. I had Hair on the brain.
