Gavin Creel will remain out and his understudy will be performing as Cornelius until March 13 when Fontana joins the company. — Page 2

I was at the matinee yesterday also and I was disappointed in his performance. Saw Gavin twice and there really isn't any comparison. While Christian can certainly sing the role and his first scene in the hay and feed store was fine but then all of his line readings were yelled. He certainly has enthusiasm but was a bit too over the top which could work for some first timers since a lot of this "new" production with Bernadette seems to be much more over the top.
I really wanted to like Christian but couldn't get over his yelling and speeding through all the dialogue.

FYI, ticket availability for 7/15 is wide open, especially in the mezzanine and balcony. Since it will very likely be the final show for 4 cast members (Bernadette, Victor, Gavin, Kate), I already have my $59 front-row center balcony seat, which I got through Telecharge Offers.

I got 2 tix for next Wed night, 3/14 on TDF today. They offered for both matinee and evening. Does Bernadette perform on Wednesday’s? I thought it was odd that both were offered but there was no indication she woul not be performing. Also has anyone gotten TDF tix for this show? I’m assuming they are balcony but hoping they are decent. Thanks!

I agree with BuddyStarr, entirely. I just couldn't get on board with Christian...felt more like Evan Hanson playing Cornelious.

Saw the show last night (March 8, 2018) and was pleasantly surprised by just how good this cast was!
As Creel was still out, Christian Dante White as on as Cornelius and was absolutely amazing. He's got a gorgeous voice and some serious acting chops. He was over the top at times but it seemed to be his interpretation of the character, rather than just over-acting (I can elaborate if that doesn't make sense). He was the only to come out to the stage door and was very kind to everyone as well.
I was disappointed to see Kate Baldwin was also out. I got to see Kristen Beth Williams as Irene and she was absolutely phenomenal. She also has a beautiful voice and was hilarious too.
Travis Waldschmidt was on as Stanley, as Michael Hartung was out, and frankly, I didn't really notice his character but he sure was great in the ensemble!
I got to see 3 swings in the ensemble including Travis Waldschmidt who was in for Michael Hartung, Jennifer Foote, covering Kristen Beth Williams's track, and Michaeljon Slinger, covering Christian Dante White's track.
It's worth noting that it appeared Bernadette was coughing a bit and wiping her nose during the first act and a bit through the second. The women next to me said she sounded sick but I didn't really notice any difference in her voice. Nevertheless, the show was absolutely fantastic and I am definitely going to stop in again when Creel returns to see him, and hopefully Baldwin, before their departures.

Agreed about Kristen Beth Williams - a revelation. Wonderful performance.
Christian Dante White was nice, too. Beautiful voice. A bit young for the role (or played a bit too young?), but it was pleasant and didn't miss not seeing a "name"

I laughed when he said "I'm 33" during one scene -- doesn't look a day over 20! Nevertheless, he was amazing.
