Posted: 5/2/05 at 11:06pmWhat musicals have to do with Homosexuality?? I know its an odd question, but Im just curious. I happen to be homosexual myself so its not like i have anything against it. Now I know the obvious, Rent, La Cage Aux Folles...but what are some others??

Posted: 5/2/05 at 11:10pmSeriously, do a search. You'll find a ridiculous amount in another thread. I'm too lazy to do it myself right now.

Posted: 5/2/05 at 11:15pmgenerally, your strongest ties to homosexuality onstage in musicals is william finn... falsettos, a new brain and elegies... but falsettos and la cage are the two gay musicals, though they take the most different approaches!!

Maybe Margo can help with this.
I remember seeing a gay play called "Party" many years ago.
I think it was in that row of theatres on far west 42nd St.

Posted: 5/2/05 at 11:25pmYou mean that awful little comedy about seven queens in an apartment (with every poster of "Sweet Charity" known to man on the wall), sort of a 4th rate knock-off of Boys in the Band and Love! Valour! Compassion! that ended up with them all naked at the end singing a Karen Carpenter song? I got dragged to that and honestly was desperate to walk out after about ten minutes of it, but unfortunately I was in the middle of a row and it would have been just too rude.
