I thought it was weird that was announced considering that there hasn't been any announcement of such a project as well, madbrian.

I feel like Drowsy as a film could either be really fantastic or awful.

Yeah, I'd believe what I read in the Globe. Please tell me what show isn't in development for a film - at least in the head's of the creators of the show.

The BWW article title is extremely misleading. The film is not even in pre-production, and all that's been said about Geoffrey Rush is that he'd like to do it.

No studio, no financing, no script, no director = no movie and the usual attempt to keep the title of the show and its creators in the press. It's been going on since year one.

Yeah, apparently all that's happened is basically the creators said to Geoffrey Rush while he was playing the role in Australia, "We're hoping to get a movie version going--would you like to star in it?" and Rush said "Sure, that would be fun." And that's as far as the train is going to go, most likely. I don't think studio executives are going to be falling all over themselves to make a movie version of a little-known Broadway musical.
