Whats the best way to get to Papermill Playhouse from Manhattan? The directions on their website were vague... I know there's a train that brings you somewhere close -- is it walking distance? And I've heard the return schedule is limited, so I think we were gonna shoot for a matinee. Would it be possible to do a matinee at Papermill and be back in the city for an evening show?
Thanks in advance... we're coming in from out of state.

I haven't been there in a couple years but pretty sure the train station is walking distance though you may want to wear good walking shoes. The ride is about an hour from what I recall so I think 2 shows are possible though you may want to stick with an 8pm curtain to be safe.

Not sure if you saw but someone did answer your question already from the first thread.

It's a pretty straight shot to take NJ transit to the Millburn station and there's a pretty helpful map right at the station on two different ways to get to the Papermill, and the longer route is probably not more than 15-20 minutes walking. On a Sunday last year, I saw a 1:30pm show of Songs for a New World, had a late lunch in town, and got back with plenty of time to spare for a 7pm showing of Kimberly Akimbo. The main thing is that I think the train only comes about once an hour, so you'll just have t make sure you're aware of the schedules if you have a second show planned that day.

Allow time for that little hike to the venue, but the good news is you probably won't get lost or feel alone, just follow the crowd, they're mostly all heading up there.

When you get off the train, follow the path that runs parallel to the train tracks. Walk on that for about 5-10 minutes. You will see a some athletic fields on your right. Make a sharp right turn, continuing to walk around those fields. The theatre is about another 5 minutes ahead. But again, you will likely see a number of people walking the same direction to the same location.

NJ Transit Morris & Essex line to Millburn. I know that line like the back of my hand lol
And, contrary to what some others have said (although I suppose this is subjective), it's not THAT hateful of a walk from the station to the theatre. It's about 0.6 miles.
