re: Glinda - Kristin or Jennifer?

I love how Kristin's voice can go so high. As one of my friends said, "Who knew there was that much power in that small of a body."
I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart. -Scrubs

re: Glinda - Kristin or Jennifer?

I feel Kristin has the better voice. Jen wasn't that strong when she was trying to hit the high notes in No One Mourns the Wicked (This was on Idinas last and right after the fall so that mightve affected her a bit so my opinion might change after seeing her again). But I have to say that Jen's Popular is the best I've ever seen and she has AMAZING comedic timing and was so funny. I have to say that I loved them both in the role.

re: Glinda - Kristin or Jennifer?

I can't take these topics anymore!

That's why we created the ALL WICKED FORUM - check the OT board.

I am going to put a bullet in my computer!

Why did I post here knowing what this thread was about?
To say JLT...

re: Glinda - Kristin or Jennifer?

Personally, I like Harvey Feirstein's take on the roll the best. Those other two girls have nothing on him. Those high notes in No One Mourns The Wicked---AMAZING! His Popular---probably the FUNNIEST thing I have ever seen on the Broadway stage. He fills out the yellow One Short Day dress like no other. Pink is definitely his color!

Why did you reply to their messages if they need a life?

Baritone?

I liked JLT... but then again, she was the only one I saw.
And then, do you know Monseiur Marius, I believe I was a little in love with you.

Ah, BSO...you spread seeds of laughter everywhere you go just like Johnny Appleseed spread, well, apple seeds.

I think I'd rate Kristen and JLT at about equal. However LBB was just horrible.

Baritone?

Blair I agree with you! JLT just made things that weren't originally written to be funny, hilarious. She is so amazing that way!!
What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

i wonder what would happen if (in a fantasy world) JLT originated the role and cheno replaced her? would the results of this poll would be just the opposite??? hmm...
#40

Baritone?

Not for me, I would still think that Jen beats the pants off of Cheno.

But that's just me....

Neither! Megan blows 'em all away

I much prefer Kristin to Megan. I haven't seen JLT, unfortunately.

I've seen Kristin, JLT, and Megan and I have heard Laura Bell Bundy.

NO ONE CAN EVEN COME CLOSE TO TOUCHING KRISTIN!!

After her it would go JLT, Megan, and then Laura who was pretty awful.

Now that I have seen both ladies in the role, I'd have to go with Kristin. Jennifer, although a great performer, was essentially doing an imitation of Kristin for a lot of the performace. She has a great voice, but lacks Chenoweth's natural ease with the audience. She has to work harder, and on the night I saw it, she got about half of the laughs that Kristin got. Again, she has an attractive voice, but it doesn't soar as gracefully as Kristin's. Thompson is a servicable performer, but I feel she lacks the charisma, charm, humour, and ease that Chenoweth brought to the role. Alot of the performance seemed to be a copy of the original, and while I am fully aware that replacements are often asked to copy the original performance, I felt Thompson pushed a bit hard, and could have infused a bit more originality into the role.

JLT wins as far as playing the character. G(a)linda is totally different, but so much funnier which makes her great!! However, vocally, I think Kristin is amazing, so it's impossible to say who is better overall. Personally, I think they're both incredible!!
#47

Baritone?

well, vocally, JLT admited that KC is a powerhouse.

JLT did a better job playing Glinda - I thought she was funnier - but as far as comedy goes, they are about even...

Since JLT has an amazing voice as well (though not as strong)...And played the role so much better...I voted for her...

P.S. KC had so much more energy doing the hair flips....

Guys, check out the Wicked Forum (OT board)....It's great - and there are places devoted to Glinda...

KRISTIN KRISTIN KRISTIN!!!! When i think Galinda (not Glina or whatever the original post says) i just think Kristin IS Galinda. JLT was hilarious, but i cant compare her to someone who i think was born to play that role.
