I'm not loving the music. At all.
Dave...as for N2N...I really don't see it working on a thrust stage like in Circle. It needs the proscenium stage.

Dave ~
"I believe..." :)
I really don't think they'd be making changes so late if they weren't serious about a transfer. I've got a couple of ideas of where it could go...but there are shows in them now.
I won't say more on that because I don't want to start anything. LOL.

Jay, weren't you talking about loving some of the songs an hour ago? What happened?
What worries me is that the show looks kind of stagnant - it's four guys on a unit set with bleachers, who wants to pay $110 for that? Though, I suppose that's the same argument against [title of show], and look how entertaining that one is. And I love "Generation Apathy". I never would have guessed that Nick Blaemire would be the first of this crop of young, hotshot (and I mean that in a good way) to make it on broadway, but congrats.
Yeah. I'm excited.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 9:31amHi Dave! I saw the show at the Signature Theatre with my college age daughter. She loved it and said it was a true depiction of "real guys" and how they act. It's not your typical song and dance show that's for sure. The four very talented guys are real life, just like the guys my son would bring home to hang out. Their conversations were synonymous with the boys in this show. Guy talk. You leave Glory Days talking about it. It does make you think. Honestly, since when is ANY show REALLY worth $100 a seat. Theatre is art just like that pound of clay at the Metropolitan Art Museum. You see it and get what you can out of it. The young writers of Glory Days claim the show is "written by our generation, for our generation". That's pretty exciting for all you members of the "Generation Apathy"!

Listen to a podcast I recorded with James Gardner and Nick Blaemire who wrote Glory Days. It has some of the music in it and they tell their story how they met and wrote the show.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 6:37pmA friend of mine told me that BWW message boards were smarmy. I did not understand what he really meant. After reading this thread, I totally get it. How do you justify bashing a show you have never seen? I saw it with my best friend and....loved it. However, I am certain that all of you self-righteous experts must know better.

I fell in love with the score when I heard a concert version at The Kennedy Center and I can vouch for the show. The production at Signature was wonderful and of course, changes to improve the production will be considered, as they did with "IN THE HEIGHTS" before it transferred to Broadway. If you listen to the gorgeous harmonies of the cast on the podcast I recorded with James and Nick, you will see why audiences loved the show during its Signature Theatre run. You can leave a comment in the Leave A Reply Box after the podcast. Joel
