I just found out last minute that I will be in the city on wednesday night. I have somewhere to be at 5:00 that should take like an hour. After that I want to go to a show with my dad. Does anyone have any thoughts on what we should see. I'm thinking Sweeney but I don't know if it's too dark of a play. Any thoughts? Also we've already seen Wicked, Rent(which I would see again I loved it), Avenue Q, Lion King, Beauty and the beast. Thnanks in advance for the info also we are probally not going to be able to get rush being that the place I have to be at 5:00 is all the way on like 79th so if I get out of their by 6 I'll never make rush right?

the wedding singer with tina maddigan!
I love Sweeney Todd but it doesn't seem like it's your type of show. I'd suggest The Wedding Singer. It's so much fun, and so hilarious. You will not be disappointed, especially with Tina as Julia.

i'd say THE WEDDING SINGER!!! you could get pretty easy tickets, and its fun!
:)
I'd say go with Sweeney. Even though it's not like the other shows you've seen, you could still very well enjoy it. Plus, it won't be around for much longer, and you can get student rush tickets as late as 7:40.
Agreed. Go see Sweeney Todd. It's sublime, and won't be around for much longer. See it while you can!

Sweeney is one of the greatest shows on Broadway, but I don't know if it's your type of show based on the other shows you've seen. I'd recommend DRS or Spelling Bee.
Tell us what you saw when u come back because so many people ask for what show to see but they never tell us what they saw!
Try Sweeny before it closes. Even if it does seem a little dark, I think you will enjoy it.

DIRTY ROTEN SCOUNDRELS or SWEENEY TODD. You won't regret seeing either
Your not gonna make any of the lotteries with the exception of Spelling Bee and Drowsy Chaperone. Spelling Bee lets you put names in at 6:00, and draws at 6:30. If you want to see Drowsy, you can put your name in at 6:30, and names are called at 7:00. However, if you don't want to see either of those, you can get student rush for Wedding Singer at any time up until 8:00. I'm not sure about tickets for Sweeney, but I've heard their seats are pretty bad for rush. Wedding Singer's are really good even if they've sold out of the front row ones. The mezzanine seats are really good in that theatre.
If you wanted to try rush, you could do the DROWSY lotto at 7pm (for the 8pm show) and if you lose, head over to SWEENEY and pick up a couple Student Rush seats for that performance. Either show is fantastic, but as many have said, SWEENEY will be gone soon and it is a production you will be proud to say you saw when people look back on it years from now. (If you don't want to do rush, there's a discount code on www.broadwaybox.com and www.theatermania.com for SWEENEY tickets now - $60 tickets). Either way, let us know what you saw and what you thought!
