I don't agree with any of Heaton's political views. However, as a liberal, I believe that she has the right to believe whatever she wants to. Her politics do not affect her acting abilities. To be honest, I've never paid much attention to her (never watched RAYMOND) so I really can't comment on whether she's a good performer or not; all I can say is, if she's good or bad, her politics have nothing to do with it. I see THE SCENE on Saturday and I'm looking forward to it. Isn't it completely unliberal to say that someone else's politics are wrong simply because you don't share them, anyway?

Most of the Raymond cast seemed distant from her. I'm glad they finally pulled those Albertson's commercials with her. THose were painful.

People shouldn't miss shows for funerals.

Unless it's their own.

It doesn't appear that she will miss any shows. She doesn't have an understudy anyway; if she were out, the performance would be cancelled.

Bad luck because of political views? Ridiculous.

Boyle's funeral is on Monday morning in Manhattan. When the 'Raymond' cast was on Larry King last night, King read a statement from Heaton expressing her sadness and sincere apologies for not being able to appear along with her fellow cast members. King's explanation for her not being there? "She's doing some kind of play in New York."

Boyle may have been a liberal, Heaton a conservative, but if you're working together for that long a timespan, you have to put it behind you to have a non-hostile environment. Professionalism comes first.

While I find it juvenile to wish her bad luck because of her political views, I too think the sitcom was mediocre at best.

I have caught Republican party mouthpiece, Patty Heaton on a couple TV talk shows. Ever notice how most of the stories she tells are about alcohol and drinking? She's always a very loud and animated interviewee. Wouldn't be surprised if she didn't tossed back a few before plopping down in the guest chair.

I loved Raymond. I thought Heaton was fantastic on the show. My favorite character, actually. Her reactions, expressions, and timing were wonderful. Her attitude and line readings were always spot-on. Hate her politics, but love her performances. I can actually separate the two. I think if others actually used their fine-toothed combs objectively, they might actually realize that her Emmys were well-deserved. Heaton, Roberts, and Horan were the strongest members of the ensemble. And the appearances of Helmond, Engel and Willard were wonderful.

And by the way, like so many other television actors, Heaton started in theatre. She studied in NYC, performed on Broadway, and started her own company which produced three Off-Broadway shows.

I will never forgive Kathie Lee Gifford for her on-going support and defense of homophobe Anita Bryant. I would like to know what other Bush policies Ms Heaton supports. If anyone defends people (like Bush) who trample on the rights of others (gays) they should be boycotted. A Bush backer is quite different than just having an opposing view of an issue. Many entertainers such as those in Nazi Germany had to find the line in the sand rather than support their leader.

I'm sure Heaton isn't overly beloved in show business for her political beliefs (she's becoming a Barbra Streisand-in-reverse whipping girl for angry liberals) and I'm equally sure she knows better than to piss off the gays. She is and has always been a fantastic actress and singer (if RAYMOND isn't enough, check her out in the otherwise pointless GOODBYE GIRL remake) and she and the supporting cast were what made RAYMOND work. (There was indeed considerable tension on the RAYMOND set, as she describes in her witty autobiography, but it was between the genuinely talented supporting cast and the overpaid, non-acting lead.)

It is a very dangerous this for an actor to express his/her controversial opinons. The audience stops seeing the character they are trying to create an only sees the actor.

I don't agree with Heaton on her views. In fact, her work is something that could prevent a loved one of mine from much needed medical options. I have to take what she does personally. So I don't support her or any of her artistic endeavors.

I wish I was above all of that, but I'm not. I'm human. And with so many wonderful performers out there who do suppport the causes and efforts I do, I don't feel I'm missing much.

Good luck to her, but she is not getting my entertainment money or time.

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart; and you'll never walk alone.
