When I was waiting to get into the Jacobs Theatre for the Once opening night, because of the timing, The Best Man was just getting out of its matinee. The crowd at the stage door was pretty large, and what really made me laugh was that Eric McCormack, Angela Lansbury, and James Earl Jones all just walked out te door next to me, right behind all the people waiting at the stage door. But nobody turned around and saw them. Except James Earl Jones, someone did call attention to him.
When I went last week, it wasn't insanity. Maybe 50-60 people. And the security guard keeps people who attended the performance on one side of the barricades, and those who didn't on the other. Everyone who came out (like mentioned above, everybody except Lansbury and Jones) was very gracious, and signed and took pictures.
Do the ones that do sign come out after matinees? I'll be seeing the show tomorrow afternoon and am wondering if it's worth waiting around afterward. Thanks in advance!
I was there at a matinee, and yes- they exited at the stage door. Also, you can always write to the stage manager and request a Playbill. I got one signed by everyone except Angela Lansbury (who signed a separate one for me) and James Earl Jones.
