I am planning a trip for December with some friends and my big thing is not wanting to pay full price for any ticket. I LOVE waiting in rush lines or SRO or what have you.

Does anyone one have an educated guess as to how it will work for these two shows? By what date would they announce something?

Thanks!!

We usually don't hear specifics until late previews are just about to start. Sometimes a little earlier.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thanks for responding! Is there a chance there will be nothing at all? (Do I need to get worried, bite the bullet and play full price?)

If you check Telecharge there seems to be plenty of availability for both shows - especially for the mezz which still needs to prove itself as a location you'd want to see Comet from since audience interaction is its claim to fame. If that availability keeps up there should be some discounting, especially for mezz seats.

I don't know about rush, but there would most certainly be SRO for Evan Hansen. Great Comet feels like a show where SRO could potentially be a hindrance to the show, based on how far back on orchestra level the revamped stage goes. We won't know till they release more information though.

Either way, if you really want to stand in lines, there's the cancellation line which is still full price ticket. You could consider paying $49 full price for rear mezz seats for DEH - since it's in Music Box now, the sightlines would be pretty good.

I'm debating between these two shows for the evening performance on December 3.  I've tried telecharge for two days to see what tickets are available for DEH, but each time I get a message that says "We’re sorry, we're having a problem with this feature of the site right now. Please try again."  I know that this specific performance is the last before the official opening the next day.  Could this be the problem and why I'm not able to see what seats remain?  Is this the default setting when a show is sold out (which wouldn't shock me since the matinee only has a few remaining seats.)

Maybe I'd be smart to just move on to Great Comet or Brox Tales instead?

I don't think that is the default. Occasionally Telecharge has problems. Keep trying.

I think there are only three seats left at the moment, all singles. However, there may be some press holds still in effect.
