I didn't claim to be clairvoyant. I'm saying that I posted my thoughts after the 2nd or 3rd preview and said they were not great then. Meaning, it's not as if I'm jumping on some bandwagon.

Drood with the tragic performances of Loretta S*it and Donna Murphy who was AWFUL as Drood. She refused to hit the $ note at the end of Writing on the Wall the 3 times I saw it!!!!

I'm siding with Munk, I purposely avoided reviews to check things out myself, and then decided "I hate them"
Yes Millie, Ms. Pescow has had quite an illustrius career outside of TV. She can "sing" and has done a lot of musical theater here on the west coast. Too bad she isn't suited for it.

I remember leaving A Chorus Line think "what is the fuss all about?" because the only person who moved me was the usher who sat me in the wrong seat!
Roundabout FOLLIES revival is the one that immediately comes to mind.
A friend related to me the story of seeing a national tour of Camelot starring Rock Hudson as Arthur. Couldn't act, couldn't sing, and basically pranced around the stage so much that my friend was not shocked when he was revealed to be gay years later.
Funny Girl with Deborah Gibson: Rumor is the cast used to refer to the show as GIRL. Get it?

I wonder how the cast would have like their paycheck only half signed.

How about the Les Miz revival?
(I don't mean everyone. Just a select few.)
Well, what makes a few? One individual from the opening cast and perhaps two replacements?
Or do you really feel that although not everyone is terrible, the cast as a whole is terrible?
I think the cast, considering individual leads as well as ensemble members, and certainly as a whole, is remarkably talented and entertaining.
p.s Alex is fabulous and Lea is fabulous. No matter who or what comprises the rest of the production, each of them alone is worth the cost of the entertainment.
RENT could often fall under this category.

*cough* well, I was very ENTERTAINED by Alex, but perhaps not in the way he nor TPTB intended.
I have to say also that I was extremely disappointed in the Evita Revival last year. I don't know why everyone goes on about Elena Roger. Maybe she can dance, but her acting and paper thin voice were distracting at the least. Britney Spears would've been more convincing. IMHO.

Jekyll and Hyde starring David Haselhoff. Then again J+H is at best a good show (and some people wouldn't even say that), but the version on video with Hasselhoff is truly one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.
What really makes it perfect is when he leaps out onto the stage for this completely overblown and pretentious curtain call, like he was Brando in Streetcar.
Jekyll and Hyde a good show? I think you'd find very few people to say that.
As for the Les Mis revival... the original cast of it was pretty awful, especially Daphne Rubin-Vega (she should just stick to RENT and straight plays). For the few weeks when Lea Salonga, Aaron Lazar, Jenny Galloway and Celia Keenan-Bolger were in the cast together I was able to look past Alex's odd performance, Norm's unconfident and bland portrayal of Javert and Ali Ewoldt's shrill voice, but after the four original principles left in April, the show went downhill again. The only thing really spectacular about the revival was that most of the actors read the original novel and occasionally, it showed.
As for the Into the Woods revival, the cast was awful except for Laura Benanti. Ben Wright's voice makes me want to detach my ears.

And you know what, I can kind of understand that. It's a very over the top and rather mellow dramatic show (And by musical standards that's really saying something), but it also has somewhat of a camp appeal and there a couple of songs that really pick up the excitement near the end.
And.... it was way better than Titanic (worst tony winning musical ever?), and that is all I'm saying about that.
istillbelieve- Ben Wright was in the OBC of Into the Woods. Not the revival.
