There WILL be a Grinch this year, it just won't be on Broadway. There is a 1st National going out this winter season. As far as I know, no casting has been announced.

I know it will play Toronto but hoped it would be in NYC when I come down to see White Christmas.
Grinch will be playing in Washington DC and we all know who is in the lead role
It's Baltimore. The tour is definitely going to Baltimore (Hippodrome) and Boston (not sure where).
The tour is only playing Baltimore and Boston this year. And of course, the original annual production will continue at the Old Globe in San Diego. (Look for a new Grinch and Young Max on the tour)
Next year, the hope is to head back to Broadway, as well as have sit-downs in a few other big cities. It's definitely playing the Pantages in Los Angeles next Christmas.
Patrick Page wouldn't be available for this, would he?
He's in MAN FOR ALL SEASONS.
It's too bad, I hear he's wonderful in that role.
Andrew keenan Bolger is Max. thats the only casting i know. you can even ask him.
I'm so happy for Andrew!

As someone who had a vested interested in this show being on Broadway this year...yes, it won't be on b-way this year. There was a fight with White Christmas to book the Marquis and you see who won. The economics of the show require that it be in one of the larger b-way houses so you can't just book it into any old house.
So it is playing out-of-town in Baltimore for 2 weeks and then moves to Boston for the rest of the holiday season. Next year's plans include sit-downs in Toronto and L.A. as well as a possible return to b-way, theater availability pending.
Andrew is Max??!
I may have to get to Baltimore or Boston if he is in it!
