The Jonathan Bailey idea is stellar. Maybe he doesn't want to be a replacement given that he's at the height of fame right now...but he would perform the hell out of this. He's also one of the very few people who could perform at this high energy level while also selling tickets like gangbusters."
Bailey = solid idea."
The more I think about it, it would make more sense for him to open it in the West End, get all the accolades, etc.

My first thought was somebody like Matthew Morrison, but he is probably too old for the role.

How long is Dez Duron contracted in Maybe Happy Ending? Probably not a big enogh name though. But I'd really like a theater name as opposed to a pop star in the role. Tony Yazbeck is probably too old...

The only thing ill add to that is JB in Richard 2nd in London wasnt as big a seller as was maybe expected. And that was straight from Wicked Part 1.
His fanbase is very vocal, and heavily online. But maybe not as massive as it sometimes feels like.
That said, JB in a musical could well be different.

I think this has always been promised to Jeremy Jordan.

Would that mean Jordan will only be playing Gatsby again for three months? I can't imagine it would make a lot of sense for him to make a high-profile return before going straight to a high-profile replacement.

"JEREMY JORDAN could definitely works well - he wouldn't be in Gatsby for just three months though -- it's more like 4+ months which is plenty of time
Jeremy's back in Gatsby just to fulfill the end of his contract (he left early to do Floyd Collins). I think he'd be a good choice and it'd be good growth for him.
