Wonder who it will be, since it seems like this entire show was built around Geoff.

They apparently have somebody but are working with their schedule. This replacement may have some scheduled out days. The goal is a 6 month extension to keep the show running through the summer.
What a great run for him - and good on the show for continuing after his departure, at least for a bit. (See also: Josh Groban in SWEENEY TODD.)
Has JUST IN TIME recouped yet? At just a $12.5 million capitalization, and with its weekly running costs on the cheaper side, it's fair to ask considering the big business they've been doing with Groff.

With the fact they’ve been selling out virtually every week, if they haven’t already, it’s going to be all but guaranteed they will by the time Groff departs.
Is it confirmed that Matt Magnuson will play the role while Groff is on vacation in January?

Hasn't recouped yet or there would be an announcement. I'm so curious who the replacement will be. Ticket prices will rise further and this will sell out through March, just a matter of how quickly....
Any outside-the-box ideas for replacement?
I think it will be someone from outside theatre, maybe music biz.

I hope not - I think he's kind of smarmy. I know he could sing it - but has he even acted before?

From what I’ve gathered this role/show doesn’t require that much acting

Wasn't The Baker's Wife looking at Circle? I'm guessing no transfer this season then

I would love someone REALLY outside the box like Seth McFarlane. I think he would be perfect - even though he's older. And he just released another standards album with the original Sinatra arrangements that were never recorded - it would so be in his wheelhouse - especially if it's a limited run.

"VERY INTERESTING idea
Ooh, I'd love to see MacFarlane in this.
As for Bublé, I don't think he has any tour dates planned for 2026... when does "The Voice" usually film in Hollywood? Would it be too time-consuming for him?
Bailey would knock it out, but I doubt he'd want to replace.
Wasn't this show sort of built around Groff? I wonder how that'll change.

I look at it this way: it really wasn't built around Groff, though it might appear that way because it's been so successful... Just taking into account the structure of the BILLING, I'd say it's built for a star. Consider the huge text for the NAME. bigger than Bobby Darin.... XX IS Bobby Darin. So I'd contend that they built the show for whoever can perform at Groff's (or near) level from an entertainment and vocal perspective -- and as someone pointed out, there's actually not a ton of traditional acting here. So as long as there are high-caliber Bobby Darins, there's no reason this can't go long-term....

On what do you base your opinion of Buble being kinda smarmy?
I'm not sure the get here is to find a nuanced actor to replace but a performer with the sheer stamina to do what Groff does on stage 8 times a week. If not a Broadway performer, it would need someone used to rigorous concert style performance. This is not a park and bark crooner gig.

I REALLY wanted McFarlane to take over from Hugh Jackman for the recent TMM revival because he would be perfect. I didn’t care much for this show, but if they cast Seth, I’d be sold
Regarding it being built for Groff: it was indeed crafted around his image. There are a few references and jokes that are tailored specifically to him. But it should be easy enough to alter them, or swap them out for new lines based on whoever the replacement is.
The Jonathan Bailey idea is stellar. Maybe he doesn't want to be a replacement given that he's at the height of fame right now...but he would perform the hell out of this. He's also one of the very few people who could perform at this high energy level while also selling tickets like gangbusters.

Perhaps not the ticket seller of Bailey, but I think Skylar Astin would do quite well in this.

That would actually be kind of genius....and im not just saying that because they were both in the Spring Awakening OBC, but I have a feeling he would be FANTASTIC

The more I think about it, it would make more sense for him to open it in the West End, get all the accolades, etc.
