Hello,
I was at the first preview of Groundhog Day (the failed one), and I have a code that gives me 2 free seats to anywhere in the theater. I wanted to know people's opinions of where I should sit. There are a lot of front row seats; are those good? Should I sit where I sat originally (seventh row, leftmost seats)?
Groundhog Day is playing at the August Wilson Theater.
Thanks for any information you have.

You can use 'view from my seat' online. Just type in 'view from my seat August Wilson theatre' and it'll pull up pics people have taken from inside the theatre and what the view is like. Usually gives a pretty good idea for where to get tickets.

Hey Jonah, far be it for me to give you advice when I haven't see the show, but I have been following the groundhog threads and I have seen 2 different people comment that seeing the show from front mezz would be the best view. Again Im just repeating what I read, but I did take note that 2 people said that.

I was there Saturday night. Row C seats 101 and 102.
There were some stage effects that were low and hard to see. Also I couldn't really appreciate how the stage moved.
At certain points people in the front row would almost stand up to see the action on the stage.

Were there things after the
van in the first scene
that you couldn't see?

I'm in the third row of the front Mezzanine six seats off the aisle.
The view is amazing!

Hi PThespian! I'm front row of the Rear Mezzanine and my view is AMAZING.

If you are going to go downstairs, I wouldn't go closer than Row H, because of how high the stage is.

Thank you for this, I'm glad I found this thread... I was looking at the options they have for when you don't win the lottery and they have a note under first row that says that first row is fun, full view and close to the action...
Well, I won't be getting those seats now...
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know which seats are offered if you win the lottery?

Front Mez is the sweet spot in my opinion. Otherwise mid theater orchestra should be good too. The stage is high, and some of the effects look better from a distance

I recommend front row mezz. I sat in second row mezz.

If you can get front row mezz, that is the absolute ideal. Sat front row center mezz when I saw it and it was perfect.
