Water for Elephants at the Alliance Theatre - Has Anyone Seen?

Saw tonight. Theatre was packed and audience loved it. As previously said, the circus performers are crowd pleasers. Also some nice stagecraft, including puppetry.

I think the 11 o’clock number needs a better song.

Flying Over Sunset vs Girl From the North Country vs Tina

I agree with all re: Tina.

For GFNC, I will say that the performance of Like a Rolling Stone was really magic.

Prince of Providence- NY?

Although some local focus, the show has sweep and deals well with grand themes (corruption in government, civic pride).

Prince of Providence- NY?

This Trinity Rep world premiere production is really amazing. Any chance of a production in NYC?

Soft Power Previews

Saw tonight and not a fan.

Two hours of cosmopolitan elites snickering about what a terrible country this is.

It also has not aged well (with China’s recent threats to HK incipient democracy).

Atlantic Theater 2019-2020

Also waiting for Atlantic Theater to announce next season.  Any ideas on when they might announce and what might be included (besides The Bedwetter)?

Public Theater 2019-2020

Anyone know when the Public will announce next season? Any inside scoop on what could be included?

BWW Boston Review: WE LIVE IN CAIRO World Premiere at A.R.T.

I left at intermission.
THE FLAMINGO KID at Hartford Stage

I saw this on Saturday. It feels very out of date.

I’m sad this is Darko’s last show at Hartford Stage.

Secret Life of Bees - Previews

IMO, Sheik reaches a new level with this musical. He has been able to maintain his high creative standards with a musical that will have broad commercial appeal.

Secret Life of Bees - Previews

I was in front row last night towards middle and the seated were great. I think the sides would be fine.

The show was great with some really beautiful songs. Strangely the audience was cautious with standing ovation at the end.

Chavkin-helmed MOBY DICK by Malloy, 1776, SIX slated for ART next season

I saw Six in London and thought it was great. It’s a refreshing addition to the ART season.
TOOTSIE the Musical: PREVIEWS START

I saw last night. I wonder did anyone feel Santino’s voice struggled when trying to sing in character voice for Dorothy?

His normal voice sounded great.

BWW Boston Review: THE LITTLE FOXES at Lyric Stage

I saw this production last night and it was pretty good. After Kiss of the Spider Woman and the Wolves, Lyric is having a stronger year.

Alice By Heart (PREVIEWS)

MCC sends a survey if you attend the show. You are required to give your name and contact info to complete the survey.

Magic Mike in Boston

Emerson is holding back every seat in the first 5 rows for every performance. Quite frustrating.

Could that be related to uncertainty about stage set up?

Slave Play

I saw on Saturday night. The cancellation line was very long so there is strong interest.

The audience response was tepid.

Playwright was outside theatre greeting friends and fans.

Girl From The North Country - Public Theater?

Like a Rolling Stone scene with Mare Winningham is pure musical theatre magic.
Public Theater & Paul McCartney

Sir Paul saw Girl from North Country tonight. He seemed to enjoy it.

Any chance the Public could be trying to work with him?

Moulin Rouge Colonial Theatre Previews

Alex Timbers was in the row behind me at tonight’s performance. I told him I was excited for Beetlejuice.  He was very gracious.

I loved the show. The orchestra sounded amazing.
