I love Patti LuPone, just like almost everyone on this site, and I just got the CD and I wanted to know which songs standout from the rest?

I personally LOVE the Overture, and You'll Never get Away From Me. Of course I also love Some People, Everything's Coming Up, and Rose's Turn but the others are my favorite.

The whole CD is amazing. The few I really love are,

"If Momma was Married"
"Some People/Seattle to Los Angeles"
"Everything's Coming up Roses"
"Small World/Mama's Talkin Soft"

I completely left out If Momma Was Married, it is truly wonderful. With the best June and Louise.

"In vulgar parlance... a stripper!"

(GASP!)

"BUT I'M NOT A STRIPPER!"

Broadway

"I can't go to Broadway with you!!"

"WHY NOT, DAINTY JUNE?!?!?!?!?!"

"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."

The entire recording (especially the 2-disc Barnes & Noble Exclusive) is a true gem. A sensational memento of this production.

The 'new' line readings of dialogue/lines that have become stale thru the years have a deliciously new delivery -- from Louise's flat/tired "moo-moo, moo-moo" during "Dainty June & Her Farmboys"... the Farmboy's hilarious "WHY NOT, DAINTY JUNE?!", to all of Patti's line deliveries for her Rose.

Great having these moments preserved for eternity and for future generations to discover.

Well said!

The recording is incredible.

Truthfully, the tracks are all stand-outs so it's difficult to choose favorites, but I guess mine would be: "Some People", "If Momma Was Married", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "The Strip" (incredible line readings from Benanti), and Boyd's wonderful bonus "Nice She Ain't".

I agree that the entire recording is really great.

My favorite has to be "Small World". I think Patti's voice is so rich in that particular track.

I also love "Smile, Girls" (cracks me up everytime)
and Leigh Ann's belting on "Broadway"

All in all, it's one of the best cast recordings I've heard.
