Awesome, I really figured they would record it. Knowing for sure though makes me feel a lot better! I cant wait for this recording!

Good news, indeed!! Once I knew it was confirmed to go to Broadway, I felt pretty sure there was going to be a recording, but it's great to know that that matter is settled. One more Gypsy coming up!!!!

Unfortunately, Time-Life (which is not affiliated with AOL Time Warner -- go figure) is responsible for the Broadway cast albums of Ring Of Fire, which may actually be released soon, after a two-year delay, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas, which has yet to be recorded, let alone released. So, may we hope they are more diligent about recording and releasing Patti?!

i pray it doesnt take forever to be recorded and released. It needs to be out soon after the run begins IMO.

LoveMusik is on Ghostlight...... Time-Life, to their credit, did the album for Evil Dead, the off-Broadway musical.

Not really a great track record for them is there? Evil Dead came out fairly quickly, but we've been waiting for Ring of Fire forever (so long, that I've almost forgot that they made a jukebox musical for Johnny Cash).

Why bother releasing Grinch, now that it's closed??? Wait until next November/December I guess.

Hopefully Gypsy will come out soon. Until then, I recently picked up the Angela Lansbury and Tyne Daly versions to tide me over...

Apparently it will be recording while in previews, and released shortly after the opening. It will also contain all the cut songs from the original production (4-6 songs).

This production gets cheaper everyday.
Check out TDF.
If Laurents really believed in it he would put out the bucks(he's got 'em) to record it with a reliable company.

Well they are claiming this will be the most complete GYPSY recording. I think the label will be reliable with this recording.
