Posted: 3/16/09 at 10:31pmgvendo...how about showing some respect. it'd be one thing if it were some kid our age making a bold statement that swenson is better....but it's not...you're the kid....ed actually saw both productions to compare so he has every right to make that comparison

Posted: 3/16/09 at 10:55pmLet him make that comparison all he wants. I never said he couldn't, I just disagreed with his opinion. As a kid who knew (and knows) the original HAIR team, and was close enough to know Gerry's family, I believe I'm more than qualified to say that Gerry didn't just play Berger--he WAS Berger. And he is, was, and shall remain a far better actor than some young upstart.

Disagreeing with someone's opinion by telling them to kill themselves actually demonstrates your immaturity. I am sure that the original creative team of Hair would be celebrating Ed's and everyone else's praise and joy about this production.
If Ed likes Swenson's take on Berger better then Ragni's your knowing the family and creative team means squat.

Most of them came out today.
Just got back from the show. It was my second time seeing it, and it was as amazing as the first. Jay Johnson was on for both shows today for Claude. For it being only being his 2nd performance he was really great. I liked Gavin is a little better (expected), but I am sure with time Jay will grow into the role. He does have a wonderful voice too. Michael Jay Scott joined the tribe in the evening show, and Tommar Wilson was on for Hud.
I may write more tomorrow.

Posted: 3/22/09 at 3:17ami was at the mat. today(3rd time seeing the show)and thought jay armstrong did a fantastic job. i went in thinking he would not be as good as gavin, and his acting wasn't as good(seemed to me like he missed some key spots)but he did have a really great voice. didn't mind seein him as claude at all. show was great overall today.

LOL
I have decided there is more drama on this board then on some stages.
I have tickets for April- Thanks for the reviews. I never made it to the park last summer but saw a comunity theater production in Asbury Park. Can't wait to see it on Broadway.

I know Jay Johnson was on as Claude for both shows yesterday.
Does anyone know if Creel was back in today?

Just got back from today's matinee- Gavin was back in.
As someone who was only familiar with the basics of the show going it, it was truly an amazing experience. Great cast, great production. Highly recommend it.

Posted: 3/24/09 at 11:14amI stood at the back of the orchestra, and the view was great. From what I remember the overhang was not a problem.

Posted: 3/24/09 at 11:34amI was in row T of the orchestra and the overhang is only a bit of a problem when they are stading in the upper part of the box things that they have onstage. But they are only up there in 2 scenes I believe. Other than that it's a small theatre and you can see great from there.
