Maybe he thinks "non-profit" literally means "makes no money"? lol.
As for the flyers, put yourself in the position of a tourist milling around TKTS (or the area in general) who has no idea what to see. The stuff that's out there TO grab your attention probably has a better chance than a show that's just a name on the board.

Absolutely. When my family comes to the city, they take the flyers and look them over and basically choose from there - they don't know anything about the shows and like to have some idea of what their choices are. They don't like to pick a show beforehand because they want to "pick from the discounted ones" (I can't convince them otherwise, but that's a whole other story).

I just want to salute the whole team at HAIR for doing SO much to promote Marriage Equality and equality for the GLBT community, in general.
And they really went to bat and gave lots of their time at protests, rallies, traveling to DC for the march, etc.
As Gavin Creel would say, what's the point of being an artist if you don't use it for social change??!?!?!?! AMEN, brother boy!!!!
Join BROADWAYIMPACT.com and march in the pride parade and do other stuff with the group! You don't have to be a Broadway performer to be involved...

For Pete's sake, stop finding some peripheral reason to shill your school or your cause in every damn thread you post in, Jason. I know BroadwayImpact is a great cause, but stop shoehorning it and your school into every thread you've posted in. Stop threadjacking and start one of your own.

I daren't disagree with DAME or i may be one of those "little bittches"
There was never a doubt it would be soon to close, but June 27 kind of shocked me. There were people who paid the prices and not discounted ones and there were some full houses. saying NEVER is not entirely true. It waned. shame. I thought it was a great production with a lot of pluses.

Posted: 6/10/10 at 6:26pmIncredibly sad it's closing, I knew it was coming but I didn't really know how I would react, I tried to ignore it. Even after 17 times I still want to back countless number of times. I'll be at the last show and I may go before then as well. Hopefully the tour comes nearby me.

Posted: 6/10/10 at 7:15pmI saw the show in London tonight, good energy - but had a VERY DIFFICULT TIME HEARING THE SINGING. Is this the way it is on Broadway too, the band just overpowered them. A bit disappointing since I love these songs.

Posted: 6/11/10 at 10:33amI got there just after 5 am, and I was the 16th person in line. I don't know if all the tickets were given out, but there was quite a line.

Posted: 6/11/10 at 10:36amI went to the show last night, The orchestra looked pretty much full. I couldn't tell you about the balcony though. I thought the show was ok, it was definitely my least favorite show I have seen this year. The cast was fun though, and it was interesting to see most of the audience on the stage at the end.

I got there about 630 this morning and was 47th in line. It was a really pain not gonna lie. they moved us about four times while we were waiting, and the security guy monitoring the line was just a plain a**.
I don't think there were 500 people there until VERY close to 10am. They actually started giving away tickets early about 920, but then realized there was no press there so they held up the rest of the line till 10am. I was lucky enough to be right at the window to get my ticket when they stopped the line. So when press did arrive it looked like I was the first one there so I am now the posterboy for Hair. I was interviewed for various outlets, and will be on the Hair's website.
That said it was all well worth it as I have a ticket in the orchestra, row E right on the aisle for tonight!

The press had nothing to do with it. There was a big ol' mob of people with blankets and chairs at the front who had gotten there extremely early, so as soon as the box office people got there around 9:30, they distributed tickets to that first chunk just to get them out of there and clear the sidewalk for foot traffic.
I got there at 7:30, found the end of the line, sat down, and did not move until it was time to walk up to the box office. I didn't notice any attitude from the security guard, he was just doing his job, which means keeping the line organized and occasionally raising his voice to be heard.
Sounds like you were just in the mood to be ticked off.
