ah I see that now, no Sunday shows for the next 2 months. there's also a weird week in March with only 5 performances, anyone know what the deal is with that?

Daveed didn't miss any shows for the previous Bars workshops and he certainly won't miss any for the upcoming ones. They're supervised by Rafael.
On their cast list on the site, it also lists Carleigh as now understudying Angelica. (thought she was an understudy for Eliza....) It also shows Ariana still being in the cast but I thought she also played her final performance last night
once again, websites are marketing tools, and have nothing to do with who is officially doing what. You can look at the playbill, you can look at ibdb but you have to understand that the person who updates the website just inputs what someone tells them to put in, and from a marketing standpoint who is understudying what role is not exactly priority information.
when you are an understudy you get a supplement for that gig, plus you get 1/8 of your pay every time you go on, but when you are in a principal role, you don't get the supplement. So unless he got a raise he would be getting less as a principal than as an understudy. Of course most people would like the principal credit if they have not had one. "
This is probably exactly why no announcement has been made about the next three weeks - Sydney may have been unwilling to take a pay cut for a month or the producers didn't feel the need to offer him a temporary raise. Likely what will happen is that he will do almost all of the performances with Austin Smith and possibly Andrew Chapelle stepping in enough so that he won't be in defiance of equity rules- isn't there a point where if an understudy does a certain amount of performances in a row, they must be offered a contract?
Maybe I missed this or it's obvious, but why are the next three weeks being emphasized with respect to a Burr understudy. The articles I read said that Dixon wouldn't start until mid-August. Isn't that about five weeks?

Sydney is engaged as Burr until BVD arrives. He will be listed as such in the Playbill as of tomorrow, and with the League and his union. (IBDB already has the correct designation.) He is not the understudy. His understudy, Smith, Chapelle or whomever, would only go on if he relinquished a performance. The reason there was no announcement is that there was no need for one. He is a temporary replacement for heaven's sake. The pay supplement he is losing is $50; I said it as a joke. There is no rule such as the one you describe, and all of the cast members including understudies, alternates and swings already have contracts.

Why wouldn't someone want to be listed in the Playbill? Especially in such a popular show."
Just FYI, many actors opt not to be listed in the Playbill, because when they go on, they get a full page insert with their photo and bio. Elena Shaddow did the same when she was Kelli's cover in Bridges.
I don't understand the appeal of posting something like "just you wait" to brag you know something that we don't. Do you want a prize?
No, I don't want a prize. I just want people to be aware that Wednesday will be interesting/different, especially if they have a ticket for Wednesday. I don't know if it's for one of the performances or both.
There hasn't been any public explanation or comment hence why I haven't said anything further. Honestly, it's a confusing matter after all the new cast members they've announced.

what folks are suggesting is that the info you have provided is meaningless unless you want to share the substance so people can assess whether they agree it is "interesting/different" as well as whether that is good or bad. As it is, as rehearsed, it's just a "look at me" moment.
I hate vague posting. If you have information you are willing to share, just spill it. Or keep it to yourself.
That said, I am going to guess that someone who has departed the production will be back at the RRT on Wednesday. And my guess is that maybe they needed some additional close ups of that person for the filmed footage. Or maybe they are filling in for someone who for whatever reason can't perform that day.
