wonderful news. this excellent production deserved to be a hit! congrats to all involved.
No announcement has been made but I think the general consensus is that it will be releasing a statement relatively soon.
I was there tonight, and I really enjoyed it. It's my favorite Shakespeare, so going in, I was already excited. I just think it's a beautiful play with some crazy good characters. I have to say that Jude Law OWNED it. He was amazing, and I don't like to throw that word around, but I was honestly inspired by his performance. It was great. It's too bad he's not surrounded by better actors though. The two main women - Ophelia and Gertrude - were kind of awful. When Gertrude dies, her line reading of "I've been poisoned" was so laughable. It's like she was saying "Oh well." And Ophelia's decline into insanity just wasn't believable. She was too sane and, dare I say, boring. She didn't make any sort of impact on me or the audience. I couldn't help but think that the costuming for her "crazy" scene wasn't helping either. It was nice, fitting pajamas and her hair was in place. If they had 'fro-ed her hair out, and thrown her in a tattered dress or something, it might have helped, but I just didn't feel anything for her.
As for the production: It was beautifully staged, and I loved how all the lighting worked, and seeing how the set came together. The snow was beautiful, and the music was good at times, but a little overpowering/cheesy sometimes too. The music at the beginning of Act 2 though was great.
Oh, and it looked pretty sold-out - with standing room.
