Posted: 7/6/14 at 7:13pmI guess it depends on how you define "doing something wrong." I would argue this whole message board is then "wrong," by your definition. However, I don't think that is what you are saying. I just think you seem to be close to this topic so it burns a little hotter for you.

It's such a hard vocal part. Maybe it was damaging her voice.
idk. She's great though.

Eh, speculate away. That isn't the press release from the producers, who I believe are waiting until they officially name the replacement.

THAT won't happen.
But, at the risk of sounding unduly harsh, Twitter is about what she would like to share, not what you think she should say. In addition, the company was expressly forbidden from discussing the matter in public prior to a press release from the producers. I imagine that would extend to Weed, who they could go after for - pardon the word choice - damages should she breach that as well.

I'm sure Barrett was very good in the role, but I saw Charissa last week and thought she was wonderful. My hat's off to a performer who can jump into a major role like that.
I'm going to try to pay Heathers another visit soon.

I saw it last night, and I heard they were extended until Jan. (But that was just the word from an usher.) Here's my review: http://lordwhatsmymotivation.wordpress.com/2014/07/07/review-heathers-the-musical/

It was actually just announced that Charissa will be taking over. According to a show representative "Barrett Wilbert Weed has departed the Off-Broadway production of HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL to pursue other opportunities. Original cast member Charissa Hogeland, who has understudied the role of Veronica since the show's premiere at New World Stages, will take over the leading role, effective immediately." Not sure what you guys think, but I feel like they'll be sticking with Ms. Hogeland, at least for right now, instead of re-casting the part.

Heathers is closing August 4th

"We are extremely grateful for the enthusiastic audiences and dedicated Heathers fans who have cheered on these extraordinary artists in what has been a dream come true for the entire team," said director Andy Fickman. "These next few weeks will be a celebration of this remarkable achievement, with all of the talented people who came together to makeHeathers a one-of-a-kind theater experience. And although its Off-Broadway stage is coming to an end, we are so thrilled to have established our brand with this solid New York run, opening many doors for the future of this piece, which we look forward to announcing very soon."
Does the ending mean broadway? (some people on the boards have mentioned a transfer)
