HOOK!

Would make a great musical, don't ya think?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: HOOK!

When you're all alone
Far away from home
There's a gift the angels send
When you're alone

Everyday must end
But the night's our friend
Angels always send a star
When you're alone

At night when I'm alone
I lie awake and wonder
Which of them belongs to me
Which one I wonder?

And any star I choose
Watches over me
So I know I'm not alone
When I'm here on my own

Isn't that a wonder?
When you're alone
You're not alone
Not really alone

The stars are all my friends
Till the night time ends
So I know I'm not alone
When I'm here on my own

Isn't that a wonder?
When you're alone
You're not alone
Not really alone....

re: HOOK!

Oh, dear God NO!!! One of the worst films ever made.
PEACE.

re: HOOK!

Good movie... but enough with the Peter Pan! There are better, more deserving properties and we don't need another stage version of it.

re: HOOK!

Sueleen! Shame, shame! Not at all one of the worst. I'd see HOOK over FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY any day. re: HOOK!

re: HOOK!

I believe it actually was written to be a musical, but it never worked out...

re: HOOK!

I wasx just watching "Some Kind of Wonderful".....I think that would make a great rock-musical...and there is a lot to it...more than just the High School love story.

Let's see....

I mean, you have the love Triangle (Tomboy-Guy-Hot Girl).
You have the bully.
The class system.
The father trying to rule his son's life.

Then there's so much that could be added. So many scenes were screaming, "Soliliquy!"
Mama Korey

The Beauty Is: Kelli O'Hara Online

re: HOOK!

liked the film... but as a musical... no!
Jesus Loves You... Everybody else thinks you're an idiot!

re: HOOK!

Oooooh, interesting idea.
I'm not a gay stereotype. I'm a coincidence.

re: HOOK!

Not a horrible idea, but I agree aces -- enough with the Peter Pan musicals. I've heard, I think, four different versions (three for sure). The others had their strengths, but really, is anything going to erase the Mary Martin version from our collective minds?

I think it's a great idea, actually.

re: HOOK!

I Love the movie, but I just don't know how it would owrk out as a musical.

re: HOOK!

Oooooh....."When You're Alone"...I LOVE that song! I am constantly programming it for my children's choirs at school....even though the arrangement is now out of print. If we could get music that good for the rest of the show, I'd say, go for it. But then again...I do have a thing for Peter Pan...I mean after all, my name is Wendy...LOL

re: HOOK!

it definitely would, the Hook and Honk threads are confusing me.. lol.

re: HOOK!

JKM2159 is right, it was written to be a musical. IMDB.com trivia is the best.

re: HOOK!

depends on who wrote it. it could be really good, or really crappy.

re: HOOK!

No offense to Ms. Gleason or anything, but her married to Norbert Leo Butz? I don't think so...sorry...going away now.

re: HOOK!

Yeah I was thinkin about that one...17 year difference. Maybe if Butz slaps on a fake mustache or dies some hair gray or something...
