"HOT FEET" Will Suprise you!....Two questions.............

As most of you know....I really enjoyed this show. I know it's not popular with some of you, but I've been 3 times and these people are eating it up! I am really nerdy about checking attendance and ticket sales, (I might be a closet producer), it seems to be consistantly increasing. Hey they called Mama Mia "Trash", and that producer is laughing all the way to the bank!

Question #1) Are there Broadway World members out there who like the show? If so please let me know what you think.

Question #2) I'm loving that Devil character "Louie" played by Allen Hidalgo. The more I think about it, he should get a Best Featured Actor nomination. I almost wet myself with laughter!Thoughts?

1. No. Dancing ensemble wonderfully energetic. That and Michael Balderama were the only things I liked. I posted a review when I saw the show in DC, so I won't rehash here.

2. No, I found his performance painful to watch.

It's been open for less than 3 weeks, of course the numbers are increasing. But going from 46% to 50% capacity is nothing to celebrate over.

I thought Allen Hidalgo was horrible in it. He needs to learn how to act. Overall the show was nothing but OK.

Allen Hidalgo was pretty bad, well...i am glad someone likes this show, i didn't personally like the show, but some people in the audience loved it when i saw it, it was opening night though.

1. Mamma Mia's success still suprises me to this day. But I really cannot see Hot Feet coming even close to the success of the show. More likely, it'll probably last as long as Lennon, if it's lucky.

2. Allen Hidalgo seems talented. But his performance is terrible, if only because Maurice Hines failed to mold it into something even remotely credible.

I just don't get this business. Maybe I'm not cut out to try producing. It seems I may not have the eye for good shows! Any way...I see critics from credible papers say they think it's a good show and Allen is the "Only one that knows how to act." Then I see the opposite elsewhere. Or/ Ann Duequenay (can't spell) is "Amazing" then somewhere else she's awful. It confuses me! Variety says "The book is weak" and "Allen Hidalgo is Entertaining".... then..... in one of the on-line reviews, they say he's "Overripe" or "Over acts". ARRRGGGH! Does anyone make money producing?

I honestly think that the only good thing of this musical was the dancing. The music is ok, but the show was way too long. I think that a lot of people that come to town to see The Color Purple might choose this show as a second show to see in the city and it might do well. Not my cup of tea though.

The "spanglish" is what pushed your buttons? Based on that.. he's bad? That's so funny. It's like my last boyfriend, who was Puerto Rican. He HATES any one who uses spanglish. I'm not Puerto Rican, but maybe it's just really offensive. Are you Puerto Rican?

I think the spanglish was the least of his problems when he went through about FIVE completely different accents in just one sentence. I think it's endemic of the rest of the show - just a jumbled mishmosh.
