re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

All all the aisle seats premium? I'm trying to get an aisle seat farther back, not necessarily in the front rows.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

Not all aisle seats are premium. The lady next to me had the aisle seat, and she paid regular price. In most cases, "premium" refers to the first few rows of the orchestra, usually the center. It is not necessarily an aisle seat.

Be ready- you will get a lot of tush slapping in standing room. High fives as they come in from intermission.

I had a huge bruise on my ass and two cast members managed to hit it. Ow.

Obviously that is considered both sexual harassment and assault, and the cast members didn't read my "Don't smack my ass!" vibes correctly.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

I am looking for some opinions and or past experiences of center orchestra ROW B seat 115 on the aisle?

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

if you're trying to decide to buy the row B 115 ticket, do it as soon as humanly possible. if you already have it, congrats. you have an amazing seat. close, an aisle, and you should get ALOT of interaction with the cast. the interaction is different every time so you could get a lot or a little but you will definitely get some in that seat.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

I already bought the tickets so I don't really mind either way but anybody know how much (if any) interaction there is for Right Orchestra Row C. We're seats 10 - 12 so about 4 off the aisle unfortunately.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

What the cast of HAIR is especially adept at is making everything seem completely spontaneous, but that's because they're so professional. How and where they interact is never different from show to show. Sorry to tell you, but there is a LOT of interaction with Right Orchestra Row C seats 6 and 8 and also seats 14 and 16. It's just how it goes. Don't try to interact with the cast when they get near you or they'll get in trouble back stage.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

I don't think that's true. People have told me they have gotten a lot of interaction in certain seats and then other performances, I've seen them not initiate any interaction with those in the same seats.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

I went to the Fri mat show and had orchestra row E seats two from the aisle. my friend and I got a lot of interaction because the 4 seats behind us (including the seats off the aisle) were empty. All of the Tribe took full advantage of those seats being free. During the song "Air" Will and Caissie come and sat behind us. Will had his feet up on my friends chair and I got hugged from behind from Caissie! As they left Will kissed my friend and I on the head...amazing!!
Then during "Hair" Gavin climbed up on the seat directly behind me and as I turned around to watch him, all I got was his nicely shaped butt in my face. No complaints here.
The Tribe has a little something for everyone in the theare! Such a fantastic show :)

Orangeskittles, if you already have huge bruises on your ass, I think the cast of HAIR's interaction level is the least of your problems.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

Whoever is spreading the vicious lies that the cast of HAIR interacts with audience members on an improvisational basis doesn't know the first thing about professional theater. They know exactly what they're going to do, to whom, where in the house and when before the scrim comes down. It's easy enough to find out if your seat is one of the lucky ones, but why ruin the surprise and the pretend spontaneity?

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

excuse me namo, i've seen the show 10 times...4 from SRO so i had a view of the whole orchestra. they might go to the same areas at certain points in the show, but the people they interact with and the way they interact with are totally different. i love watching all the different ways they interact and i'm sure they aren't assigned certain seats. gavin and will might be assigned certain seats to stand on or to give the pants to or as for change or even the "mom" seat. the mom seat changes all time, i've seen will ask for money from a few different seats near A101 but it's not always that one. i've even seen will give the pants to other people than A115.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

I'm going to agree with yay_gerb on this. I've only seen the show 3 times, but the interaction from Berger in the beginning has definitely changed each time. From the asking for change to his "balls in your face" and who his "mom" is - each time I've been, they've been different. First time I saw it the "balls in the face" was the aisle seat at the right side of Row A... last time it was the exact opposite - the left side aisle seat. So while I agree that the areas they go to are the same, they do change it up a bit.
Also, first time I went, the audience interaction seemed to be spread evenly throughout the theater. I was sitting in the right orchestra and got slapped in the shoulder by Berger LOL But last time barely anyone came down the right side at all. I was a bit disappointed because I was sitting in the aisle seat in the right orchestra again.

You should have asked for your money back. "Audience Interaction" is above the title, practically.

re: Hair Cast Audience Interaction

Bettyboy, I sat down on a chair arm at another show the day before, heh.

Honestly, most of the posts in this thread are unnecessary. "Is this a good seat?!" threads are bad enough, but to ask people to predict whether or not a cast member might spontaneously decide to touch them that night? Please. It should have ended on the first post- if you're on an aisle anywhere in the theatre- yes, there's a chance.

I can't wait for someone who paid $250 for A115 to come here and whine that they weren't given Will's pants that night.

Berger's "mom" was a man the other day. Just felt the need to point that out.
