Mr MAtt there is a brief sequence of music with choreography and some iconic images from the war, Viet Cong getting killed, that one famous image of the guy getting executed by being shot point blank in the head etc.
Thanks SNAFU! That's probably the same scene. It has been staged in a variety of ways, but only a couple of cast recordings have ever included the music, which I love.
One particular production I saw (some others around here may have seen it as well) staged the scene with a few people coming out at a time representing different eras in war history. The monks get killed by the nuns who get killed by the WWI guys who get killed by the WWII guys, etc. with bodies piling up ending with a soldier "pushing the button" accompanied by a blinding flash of light. Then they performed the same choreography backwards in reverse order from the end to the beginning. They then repeated the entire sequence two more times getting faster each time. It was brilliant.

Oh no. Not another show with the actors wearing those hideous customer-service-rep headset microphones. Isn't it bad enough that shows are heavily miked, we're now expected to suspend disbelief while watching actors wearing the gears and pulleys in plain view. It's the worst thing to happen in the theater since the sung-through musical.
WHAT are you talking about??? ^^^^

What're you talking about, buddy? No actor wears headsets in ANY show on Broadway.

They wore them in Rent. They're wearing them in scenes from Hair that aired on CBS Sunday Morning. I don't know if they're currently wearing them in other shows.
They are not the customer service type of headsets. They are about as UNobtrusive as they could be. If THAT bothers you....you have a pretty low tolerance. You only see them up close and/or if you are looking for them.

To me, the actors look like they might be taking calls, selling magazine subscriptions between numbers. Those little sticks poking out from under their ears are hideous.
Wow, your intolerant. The reason they probably used those as opposed to the ones that go over there head and rest on their forehead is because they are shaking their heads a lot and it could come off. Just deal with it, jeez.

People have to stop misusing "intolerant". What's raker intolerant of? Headsets? He's not gay-bashing or anything.

I think they use them because seeing theater has become like watching TV, at $120 a ticket. We can hear actors whisper. They can turn their backs to the audience and whisper and we hear every word. To me, it's an inauthentic theatrical experience. No offense to anyone who feels differently about it.
I never heard anyone whisper...
Plus if they were whispering then you would be able to hear it with the microphones that don't look like headsets.
I find the small head mics a lot less objectionable to the hand held versions we saw in Spring Awakening. I know it was a creative choice but those bothered the crap out of me.
Since one synonym of tolerance is PATIENCE....I certainly used it correctly.
But anyway....the body mics they in no way EVER bother me unless they were poorly placed.
