The show won't extend. It was most likely filmed for Lincoln Center archives before the OBC left. The reason RENT filmed was because it was a pop culturally significant show. HAIR doesn't have the audience that RENT did, nor does it have the same widespread recognition. Not this revival anyway.

Shows close. HAIR is no exception. My only wish is that it had closed with a better cast. Ah well.

Here are my thoughts on "HAIR"...They opened "semi" big. They got into the Prop 8 thing. They went to DC with the original cast and cancelled a performance. Then they went to London. For me it was kind of "When can I see the original cast". In my opinion they should have just stayed with the show in NYC. Send the understudies out for the Prop 8 stuff to represent the show. I think the producers thought they would be successful no matter what. Now they are closing. it just seems that the original cast didn't stay around long enough. Just my random thoughts.

i can say "good riddance to bad rubbish" on other shows besides HAIR at the moment, but it is all about the all mighty dollar.

I would buy the series.

I know this is no clarification by any means, but at the stagedoor today, the cast were saying how they are starting to hear a lot of rumors that they are gonna get extended.

One holiday isn't going to increase sales enough for the show to continue running. In fact, don't many shows discount around the 4th of July holiday?
