I thought it was a great performance. It seemed awkward at times because of how the seating was set up, but it was okay. I felt bad for Allison when she was trying to give Conan the flower and he just ignored her.
I didn't think the audience was "lame" or "not into it." Perhaps some are just shy or embarrassed. When my friends and I were at Xanadu, my friends got really shy and nervous when Mary Testa, Whoopi and other cast members who touching them or near them. I can only imagine what they'd be like at Hair.
